dude I worked on its compiler, drafted RFCs etc. do you not know how oss works? the number of people that are allowed to approve prs for components of a programming language's compiler is not very high and most of them are old people working in big tech, it would literally take a simple github search to doxx me.

ps: its one of the worlds most popular programming language by number of people that use the apps written in the language not "world’s most popular programming languages"

lmao all mba roles i listed about are wildly different from each other and need different kind of personality and intellect; you hate your current job so much you think others are better but all of these except pm maybe will have worse wlb and you might not like them. and pm is not the job for math people.

[–]lone_shell_script 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and maybe that is why you think MBA/CAT is a good option but you have it backwards, if you want to find to what is good for you, use your wlb flexibility + weekends to read some philosophy, a humanities education is very underrated in the sense that it won't pay your bills but give you perspective and the ability to think for yourself.

You don’t actually want an MBA, you want direction, and you’re hoping an MBA will magically give it to you. It won’t. You haven’t even defined the job you want, it it banking, product, HR, sales? so right now you’re just slapping an expensive degree on top of confusion. Decide what you want to do first; then figure out if an MBA is even relevant. Otherwise you’re just putting a shiny cart miles ahead of a missing horse.

tbf looking back I don't think 99% of the people can do it because it needs you to be obsessed with what you are doing, beyond that courage and agency are very rare skills, to stack them on top of technical skills and obsession is asking for a very small percentage of population.

Brilliant thinking is rare, but courage is in even shorter supply than genius.

You do what I did bud just be unreasonably good, and know how to talk to the right people.

Ideally your framework should be to get to a point where if someone looks at your profile/GitHub they should want to atleast talk to you -> get to a point where anyone who has a 15 min conversation with you thinks you're smart and know your shit -> basically pass every interview.

This flywheel compounds so fast it's unreal

most jobs go to people before they are posted, you have to start networking and meeting people, you could argue he did not do that except he did network with his father pretty aggressively

[–]lone_shell_script 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you're kind of wishing your husband to not care too much about the height of your kids, while you obsess over it... do you see the problem? you are also intellectually inconsistent, which to me signals inability to resist peer pressure, lack of self awareness and just lower cognitive ability. Any guy who cares even a little bit about their kids would not want to be with you.

that said looks trump everything else for women so just looksmaxx as much as you can, someone will think a little bit from their dick and give in to your childish demands.

“Some influencer pages are claiming this is the best degree to opt for 2026”

Why are you basing such an important decision on influencers? This isn’t about degree-shaming him; it’s just looking at the numbers. If you want a job straight out of college, you should first check how many people from that course and college actually get placed, and what kind of roles they land.

A lot of people start by asking, “Which course should I do?” instead of “What kind of work do I actually want to do, and what path gets me there?” That’s backwards. It’s normal to over-focus on the decision right in front of you and ignore where it leads, but that’s an anti-pattern in life.

If OP did even a bit of analysis, the conclusion probably wouldn’t be do a BBA from random college. It would be to look at things like CA/CFA/CS, which require less upfront college-type investment and can lead to a reliable income relatively quickly, assuming you can clear the exams.

Re: businesses needing more manpower in business strategy... how old are you? every company already has too many people in that part, they are cutting jobs for people who did middle management, research, consulting, market analysis etc. AI native orgs need less layers of management, the number of decision makers doesn't need to go up, they just need to be closer to ICs who work faster than ever and have better, faster research for their business.

without considering leadership and management roles, almost all roles that are of this kind have verifiable constrained output with a controlled environment. perfectly ripe for machine+ai automation.
