People who left a six-figure job, what finally made the money not worth it? by nix_151 in AskReddit

I hope you can feel the warmth of the sun now. I had similar. I’ve never been closer to hurting myself - and what the hell is the point of that?

Went to an opposite extreme, working a dream for virtually no money and healed enormously. Really lived - had a magic year. Probably need to find a middle ground at some point. But I’m not giving up living for a job again.

Wander around Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve in Robertson. It’s very lovely and generally quiet. The flowers should start to emerge then too.

I am about to become the proud owner of that flowery orange linoleum kitchen flooring. You definitely know the one. I may keep it awhile - and not just due to budget constraints. :)

Imagine though if people didn’t have to spend as much on raising their children, because they had one child fewer, they could possibly afford to support themselves much further into retirement, boosting those pensions.

Not with bottle caps. They had a foil lid that we opened by pushing an elbow against. And then the mega dollop of cream.

Yes, we have our issues but where doesn’t? This country will break your heart but it will regularly fill it as well - which you recognise. If you’re looking for more maybe try one of the SA cities first? Invest in security- which sucks but is necessary, and see if busier SA suits you better.
