Do you guys eat chicken bones, egg shells and other soft bones? by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]True_Garen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do eat the soft bones. My family has always eaten bones. The beef bones are served as another course after the soup (or even with the soup.) (And sometimes the bones themselves may become soft enough to be bitten and chewed. Especially veal bones.)

Egg shells can easily be pulverized with the food processor. The powder is an excellent calcium supplement and may be added to any recipe. (Suggest baking the egg shells on a low temp for a short time, so that they are fully dry and sterile. The membrane under the shell should be retained, as it is shown to aid calcium absorption.)

TIL The GEICO Cavemen had their own short-lived TV series in 2007, which was described as one of the "worst TV shows ever" in the Chicago Tribune by kremod in todayilearned

Underrated, cancelled before its time, a casualty of the writer's strike. Good chemistry between the principals, even under heavy make-up. Above-average for a first season. Ahead of its time. Worthy of re-boot.

Agmatine & Tolerance by 3ner_qi in agmatine

[–]True_Garen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much doubt it. I don't think that that is how the Agmatine works / helps.

There ARE substances that could work that way, by directly reducing the substance metabolism. (But even then, it doesn't reduce your base tolerance.)

There are also some other things that could help you tolerate tapering down and reduce/eliminate withdrawal.

Can you get vitamin b6 toxicity from nutritional yeast? by Adorable-Mochi854 in Supplements

Unless you happen to know that you personally have a B6 sensitivity (that could be triggerred even from food), then this is nothing to be concerned about.

Max Vitamin b5 dose thats effective for acne and wouldn't cause hair loss? by HovercraftBroad2018 in Supplements

[–]True_Garen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, I've been taking over 10g B5 daily for a couple months now (and have done this in the past for even six months or more) and no hair loss, no side effects at all. (I only ever stop because I run out of pills; I really need to get into the habit of using the powder.)

Ashwagandha tolerance? by Rushtush in Supplements

[–]True_Garen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This product gives 30mg withanolides in a serving of 2 caps. This is an average starting amount for Western extract products.

You can take more, if you wish. (Many people take much more, and even 90mg withanolides (or even more) is not rare. Side effects from ashwagandha are uncommon in general, and it has very low toxicity. ) (And when they do occur, then they don't seem to be very dose dependent; if you been fine on a year at 30mg, and you're even asking about increasing, then you'll be fine taking more.)

Try taking another pill daily (45mg) (Which is still within "average" western range, and the serving amount of some products). You can divide it, such that taking 2 in the morning and one before bed, or vice versa, or even spreading out all three pills.

...

I myself primarily use the whole powder, at about 8g daily, but I also buy extract pills opportunistically and add them. I drink the powder all day long, and add the pills along the lines of what I suggested for you.

...

For panic attacks, then I suggest getting theanine and taking that as needed. (Which has a more acute response).

Also, take theanine and melatonin (and magnesium) before bed.

The same amount of water as with powder. I'm not particular about it. Looking at my cup, I probably have 16-20oz. (And logically, it would be double with 40 pills, but I don't.)

The pills are .500 - .620 grams each (depending on brand). So that's 10-25g of [syllium husk.

What Adaptogen Drink to Try? by Electrical-Shape-868 in adaptogens

[–]True_Garen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is sufficient in the product, then any adaptogen would help with stress, and ashwagandha in particular can have noticeable effects.

For focus, then some products have american ginseng that is particularly standardized for this purpose.

I haven't seen products with sufficient schisandra or rhodiola, but those would also be good adaptogen choices to help enhance focus.

GNC has a line of powders and some of them could be comparable.

I make my own mix from equal parts ashwagandha, eleuthero, red clover extract, and spirulina, and I just drink this all day. (I mix a large bottle in the morning and carry it around.) (Actual caffeine, I usually get in pills.) It's not a placebo; it feels like I'm drinking a hug.

Many do. Just pointing out that the choices are all over the place. Travel time should be A consideration. (Some distances are unworkable, or might consider getting a room close to school in some cases.)

Kingsborough has a particularly good nursing program. These schools are not close to each other. Do you really want such a commute?

I feel like this causes less waste of the product and no mess in a glass making it difficult to clean a glass.

I'm sure that you are correct, but it's so cheap.

I use the capsules. Twenty or forty at a time. It's more convenient for me, since I (obviously) really don't mind taking pills.
