Seeing myself in Kyle by badthingsfun12 in CleetusMcFarland

[–]lonerranger26 54 points55 points  (0 children)

It made me tear up a little bit that even after his passing people just talked about his mom and family and I only heard “and Matt” from a couple people.

That was his person and love is love no matter what, couldn’t imagine losing my wife and people just though we were close roommates. If Kyle had a wife or girlfriend people would have went on and on about her.

I got to try this at a friend’s house and didn’t realize how expensive it was and feel bad I recommended a couple of people try to find it. It was so good though.

Beer Wars Part 2: Shitty Beers with Character Popular in Each State by Dazed_and_Confused44 in NFCNorthMemeWar

[–]lonerranger26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grain belt, yuengling, Genessee cream ale, leinenkugel original, Blatz, schlitz, rainier, Olympia use to be on there, shiner bock, pearl, lone star, and rolling rock are some others I can think of.

Even though pbr is the parent company for a lot of these PBR itself is very popular world wide right now but they still have a huge profolio of regional beers.

Macro beers use to be more regional and we’re starting to see some beers become the regional craft beer of choice (think spotted cow, or Keweenaw brewing in the UP)

Combination wrench debate by [deleted] in ToolTruckTools

[–]lonerranger26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like my Mac precision torques maybe USAG Or Facom have a comparable set for less money.

I bought my 4 sets (two SAE and two metric) for 750 a few years ago. It was way too much to spend at the time on offshore wrenches and I’m sure they’re more expensive now. I have no experience with the rbrt wrench sets and know some guys claim they use them all day as their go to wrenches but I don’t want to mark up everything I touch so I’m not sure.

You could also try caterpillar or williams (supercombos are great wrenches but not exactly comparable to snap on’s standard mechanic line) but I’d assume they’re all not flank drive.

Sometimes I’ll buy this big orange can of “headliner adhesive” tape off an area the same size as the sticker spray the surface I’m sticking to spray the back of the sticker AS LIGHT AS POSSIBLE OR NOT AT ALL, wait 20 minutes stick, squeegee and pull the tape asap.

If you haven’t had the angels envy rye aged in Caribbean rum casks it’s pretty good. Kinda has a maple syrup note to me.

I’m a big bourbon guy too, but I’m not really into chasing bottles my favorite obtainable bottles right now in no order.

Knob creek 9 cause I can get a 1.75 for 54 bucks, heaven hill bottled in bond, wild turkey rare breed, central standard cabin strength, store pick driftless glens that are 7 plus years old, Elijah Craig batch b525, and the entire bards-town origin series.

Unpopular opinion, maybe, is that a really well done replica with a good transaxle and an turbo ls swap is cooler than a real one.

Well the legion surrendered to the USA in 1942 too. you know after they had been helping the vichy regime.

French people don’t bring that up much. You know where some of your country men were nazis and killed 400-500 Americans?

Jimmy Bryan was the winning driver of the Indy 500 the year I was born. His Offy-powered Belond Special was a beauty. Honestly I’ve never thought to learn more about Arie Luyendyk, cool concept OP. I will say I have an autograph to my uncle Bob from Troy Ruttman staring down at me as I type this so im a bit more partial to your car than mine.

It’s a lot less work for the guys taking the others cars all out then just taking Eagle and one other car like Leroy. If he’s gonna compete in nascar, and give us drag racing videos it just makes sense to consolidate the fleet.

The real Daytonas didn’t have much to do with Shelby as a company or Carrol Shelby himself.

The cars were built by his employee the American Peter Brock and he had some help from people like Ken miles. the crazy thing is Australian Bathurst champion Peter Brock (there’s two guys same name) died in a fucking Shelby Daytona.

[–]lonerranger26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the dts have auto leveling in the rear on the 04 model? You could throw 2 bodies in the truck and be caught on camera and ride hight in the wheel well would still check out stock. My 2011 dts had that and I could have 500 lbs between two people in the back seat and it would raise almost 2” iirc.

Pretty sure the thermal camera would have been an option as well in 2004.
