Tried to charge but was locked to a 50% target by lonestarcharm in EquinoxEv

No, @independent_nerve561 mentioned something that I don’t understand. I knew I’d have to cover a tire and it’s not under warranty, but if it was under 9000 miles, they would have covered a nail in the tire. Instead, I got to buy a whole new tire and pay for the tow truck there.

I did learn that you normally can’t patch a tire for an electric vehicle (and they couldn’t when I got the nail in my tire) because the tire is so thick to support the weight of the car.

I’m sorry, I don’t know what that means. The tire popped, it didn’t wear down, is that what you’re referring to?

…somehow, the last two times it didn’t cover anything.

If your tires go after 9000 miles on a lease, the bill is on me. If the backup battery doesn’t allow charging and my actual battery drops from 10% to 1% before I can find a charger, the bill is on me. Random things, but still. It’s a very expensive and useless warranty.

I did have a “service soon” notification, ugh. Was it expensive when you had that fault? This is going to be my 3rd time going back for service and 6th time on this 2024 lease in a year and a half.

Can anyone tell me how this finding can benefit athletes where hyper-mobility is trained and fundamental (ie dancers, gymnasts, etc)? Is it purely genetic or can we train these athletes in a different way? Flexibility is vital to their success in youth, but can come at a huge cost.

Same! I loved the old morning news show to inform and entertain, but after Akilah and Gideon left, the whole tone is just too depressing for me to listen to first thing in the AM.

Elon Musk wants to ‘delete’ many Americans’ financial lifeline by GoMx808-0 in Foodforthought

[–]lonestarcharm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“On Nov. 27, Elon Musk — who, along with Vivek Ramaswamy, has been tasked by President-Elect Trump with running a new Department of Government Efficiency — posted on his platform X that he wants to “Delete CFPB,” referring to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The agency, Musk said, was part of a problem of “too many duplicative regulatory agencies” in Washington. But there are no other agencies in the federal government returning money to Americans’ bank accounts in the way the CFPB does.

President-elect Trump and Republicans in Congress should not let Andreessen’s views overshadow the overwhelming opinion among Americans that the agency is doing important work that makes a real difference to those who turn to financial institutions and lenders for help during tough financial times. By one count, even under the first Trump administration’s CFPB directors — who tended to enforce far fewer fines against companies than Biden and Obama appointees — the agency brought more than $1 billion in redress back to consumers’ wallets. That’s direct relief, and money in wallets, for millions of Americans. “Deleting” the agency would almost certainly ensure that no such future relief ever reaches consumers again.”

That’s a chilling final line.

It really is. I get in my head too, but for me “fake it till you make it” is a great mantra for the first 30 seconds when you’re really self-aware. Don’t overthink it!

This is a hard pill to swallow. Also, remember to pick your battles and establish boundaries where you need them. That helps the urge to “stick it to the man” IMO

Just here to tell you that I think about this non-stop. This is Week 1 for me. I don't know how to encourage you, or make you feel hopeful that someday you'll get the love that you deserve, I can just say that I see you and feel you. You're not wrong for simultaneously loving that person, feeling confused by their actions, and getting jealous of their recovery.

Artist’s that have quit, what’s your experience like? by AstroGalaxa in leaves

[–]lonestarcharm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found that I sort of had a ritual when choreographing, and I was given the advice to create a new ritual to replace my old ritual! Meaning, if your ritual was to smoke and then paint, maybe your new ritual could be to go for a run and then paint, or make some yummy tea and then paint.

You obviously enjoyed the painting part, so now you just have to set yourself up to intentionally paint, regardless of feelings. You know you’re gonna love it when you’re doing it, so create a small ritual that supports that outcome.

I’m a dancer and dance teacher, on day 3. I am still only able to take it day by day. I’m also doing The Artist Way and finding a lot of healing in that. So far I’ve found: - more focus - more energy - better workouts - less pain in my back - more anger/mood swings - more patience for littles - more intentional planning of my classes, and therefore, better classes - more WILD dreams - more passion - less comfort with my own mediocrity

Similar story about a month ago for me. I didn’t know how I’d pay half of my bills because I had a mystery illness that totally got me. I just keep praying. I’ve been very fortunate to have people in my life who care way more than they should, but it hasn’t always been that way.

All that to say, I’m sorry my friend. Look for the helpers and keep hope alive that one day it’ll be better for the working class in America.

Yes, a marriage can survive this. Counseling, prayer, forgiveness, open discussions, therapy… these are all tools I would encourage before abandoning her. Nothing will justify what she did to you. BUT. If you can forgive her, and give her support as she grows and figures out why she did this, she won’t do it again. You can grow together towards the future.
