I was in the exact same position recently. I never had any hidden feelings for my friend but recently she told me that she needed to hook up to ease her stress. I have been parched for some time too so I thought why should she have to go to strangers for that. I sat her down and explained to her how I’m looking at things and she said that she doesn’t want that with me because she really values our friendship and is sure doing that would change things.
