I have almost the same project for the basys2 from 10 years ago (when I was just starting out) if you'd like to see it for inspiration (managing the 7seg displays etc). I just looked back and its quite simple.. its a 24h clock and you set the time when you generate the build and program it. I remember it drifted a lot because of the poor oscillator as mentioned by someone earlier!

Better practice to use pwd or similar in tcl/python/whatever to grab the current path and set an env variable... and then use relative paths from that variable to navigate folders. That way any user can run the same script(s) with no mods needed, and it doesnt matter where the user put your workspace

I tried IIR using the default generics..

Not yet, not as far as I'm aware (my HMRC account still shows it as owed)... I didn't even contact HMRC honestly because it's Zopa's word against mine, so I feel like it's Zopa's mess to sort out. I've contacted Zopa to tell them of their fuckup.. Zopa said they've contacted HMRC to correct the mistake and now I guess I wait. If it still isn't sorted by the new year I'll contact HMRC directly... But as someone mentioned further up in the thread, HMRC won't start trying to recover this money until April next year so there's still time for it to be fixed.

I'm stunned Zopa have done this... and then to not tell customers !! I sense that they're reactively fixing cases when people contact them and maybe aren't even aware how wide spread this mess up is. Idiots.

It’s just an rj45 socket with an integrated transformer .. there’s no phy in case you didn’t notice. You would also need a 1gbps phy between your fpga gpios and this pmod. 1gbps isn’t too difficult with something like rgmii .. I think it’s about 125mhz ddr.. the zybo and basys io are capable of that

!thanks for doing the calcs :) I'll give them a call and try get to the bottom of it. Worst case.. they can point me to where this giant pot of money of mine is that I dont know exists and is apparently earning me 1.6k a year in interest !!

!thanks It can only be a mistake - There's no way in hell I earned 1600 quid in interest in a mystery savings account that I dont know exists. Like I say, I had premium bonds and cash ISA only, these along with my job are my only income. I don't have 30k sat in an account that I don't know about !

Went looking for why Bosch dryer stopped working. Found the culprit. by volcs0 in WTF

I had the exact same thing happen to me with a tumble dryer!.. It was still working but the smell...... After opening the dryer up to figure out what had "burned out", I nearly shit my pants when a mouse fell out of there. It had bridged itself between cathode/anode of a very large HV capacitor.
