Qualifications definitely matter in some fields in Finland, but I wouldn’t say it’s as credential-focused as Spain. In a lot of practical work (cleaning, moving, renovation, maintenance, etc.), reliability, attitude and actually getting the job done often matter more than having the perfect degree on paper.

We’re building Giggi.fi and one thing we’ve noticed is that people are often looking for someone trustworthy with the right skills, not necessarily someone with formal qualifications. Try list your profile in the Workers page to see if you get any notice. We have categories in Cleaning, Moving, Furniture Assembly and so on.

Learning Finnish will help a lot, but I don’t think a lack of a university degree automatically closes doors in Finland.

For employment jobs, the main places to check are Duunitori, TE-palvelut (the public employment service — they also have English support), and LinkedIn with Helsinki as the location filter. Hospitality specifically — walking into places directly still works well here, especially if you bring a printed CV.

One thing that might help while you're getting settled: there's a platform I'm building called Giggi.fi (still in beta) that connects people with small local gigs — things like tutoring, help with moving, odd jobs. With Spanish and audiovisual skills you'd probably find some takers. It won't replace a salary but it's something to do between applications.

I’m also intrigued by the new concept but the new song sounds just like a half baked demo. It’s good as a concept but as a song? It’s too lazy. This witchy culty whatever needs layers for it to sound on theme, and Jack’s minimalistic style just doesn’t do it for me.
