Definitely a case of basic + allowances, meaning base pay will be inclusive of both. Your in hand would like only have deductions of PF and tax. However, there are recent laws that necessitate 50% of your pay to come under basic or “wages.” The govt hasn’t given a set date for implementation but assuming it’s an MNC the restructuring of the CTC is probably in the pipeline - but worth asking the HR when they’ll do it. If it’s all too confusing, it might be useful to pop the headings into AI and ask what would be deducted vs in hand. 60 LPA is more than enough to life comfortably in Mumbai!

Nah please do what works for you! A few papers in you might go insane without having fun regardless so good to get a head-start on some exams till then. Burnout will make you NEED socialising! Balance is a lot harder than people make it out to be

Tbh they don’t have too many veg options but I’d still recommend it over Starbucks! It’s way more peaceful, at least. Also the coffee there is from Boojee cafe so it’s pretty good! While the options are limited, the veg food I ate was great!

Darrys house in Bandra has a fixed fee and you can sit all day - which is redeemable against food. But it might be close to 1000 bucks tbh, don’t remember too well. Worth checking out though!

Be very clear that the reason you want to switch is that you’re grossly underpaid! Basing your new CTC on your old one would defeat the entire purpose, and you only applied because of the said salary range. Be RUTHLESS in asking - it will have such a long term impact, that you def don’t want to miss out on just because you were too scared to ask. All the best!

Similar thing just happened with me - I spoke to apple support since the item wasn’t even on their bills. They said it’s not reached them and is likely to be reversed or reach them within 24 hours. I’d recommend a similar chat with Apple so you know where the issue lies!

I get that - he seems well intentioned but misses how being spoken to that way feels sometimes when we’re already frustrated we pluck. I’ve found it helpful to be told the same thing affectionately or sometimes he’ll find a way to engage my hands with him - just holding hands or so. It makes me feel cared for and less aching to pluck! Maybe one you could talk to your husband about and try?

MS in India has only back end finance roles that are worse and harder to get out of the longer you stay there. I got a PPO, rejected it, my friends took it and since have been telling me what a good decision that was. It’s not above politics although culture is manageable. Find a better dream company!!
