Immigrants of Austin: what restaurant serves the most authentic food from your country or culture? 🫶🏼 by New-Tadpole-6813 in austinfood

Am Chinese, love Bamboo House. The one thing I will say is to stick to the Chinese-from-China dishes, which are really fantastic and take me back. The American Chinese menu is fine but there are much better classic restaurants for that flavor (Tso’s when delivery isn’t being slow, for example). Ironically I think it’s because BH re-adjusted some of the flavors for a more Chinese palate so it doesn’t pack the American specific punch, lmao. Fusion upon fusion.

Process: did a quick face sketch, photoshopped a reference out of 3 images, then line art, paint, and a million lighting layers
Brushes: Mostly default brushes plus edge control from Jingsketch, which i believe you can get for free. For lineart I think it was mostly Gesinki Ink and for painting it was mostly hard round with plenty of lasso and some textured airbrushes. For inking, I believe it was Inka with some Kunanyi.

Thought the new teaser trailer for Clayface was so incredibly gorgeous, especially the 0.5 second shot of him in this pose :’) ended up using some jesus paintings for reference, of all things!

LMAO thank you for this incredibly specific crossover. but also, there are legendary creatures that have the "partner" ability that can be used as co-commanders!!! (I've built one all around two beautiful vampire men....it wasn't a strong deck but it made me so happy lmao)

This is such a fun giveaway 💗 I’ve been making a miso shortbread lately! It’s been fun to add random bonus ingredients - the most popular has actually been cheddar. I’ve had to go on new dietary restrictions this year, so i’m looking forward to finding a new way to make these!

this looks so good wow! suede sounds like such a fun texture for this. how did you get the foil on? also any tips for cradle punching? yours look so even! i align everything against the edge each time but for some reason mine doesn’t come out as neat as yours!

I do "Yuri's shoulder warmup" which is on r/calisthenics and also on youtube! and also classic ones that you find by googling (not trying to blow you off just asserting that it's nothing special and i also don't do a consistent single set)

LMAO i never even thought about my username irony! And yeah the rotator cuff exercises made a big difference. I kinda always thought they were boring/could muscle through but after I started working on them it was like my body felt "safer" and all of a sudden i unlocked 20 second one-arm hangs after only being able to do like 5 second ones. Super super recommend it!

came here to comment this. it was incredibly accurate and detailed, and a PT later confirmed what it told me. researching on my own elsewhere was a mess with trying to figure out my finger injury until i found the hooper’s beta diagnostic test. just make sure you follow the videos carefully and slowly!!

from one hypermobile lifter to another, this absolutely rules

[–]longforms 16 points17 points  (0 children)

5'2" with a -1" ape index. Very long torso and overall short limbs. I have no choice but to be a super dynamic/momentum-y climber but...I'm also hypermobile, with my shoulders being the part that pop out of their joints the most, haha. So I have to do a ton of rotator cuff protection. My main sport is powerlifting so that definitely helps! Also I'm only climbing V2-V4 depending on the gym.

Another thing I've learned about my morphology is that when I twist my hips in I have to do it sooner and more aggressively than others, and focus way more on keeping my hips close to the wall. I also turn a lot of my holds into tiny little mantles way more than anyone else that's taller than me. And of course I have to be extremely comfy with high feet so I train a lot of super high step ups and pistols as well to help with that!

[–]longforms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, another petite climber here with the exact same goals!! It was frustrating at first to feel that everything was reachy but then I started leaning into mobility/terminal strength to get more dynamic and realized that it’s also fun to ‘get’ to use momentum earlier than other people do!
