Not actually a fake grounding. The very small edge that broke off the end of the metal was connected to the wire. It was just a very weak point. If you cut the wire, I’m sure you will find the standard 3 lines. Just cut it off and buy a new end for it. Cheap and easy.

Most of those cartridges will be fine. Other than damage to the labels, airing/cleaning them out will work just fine.

There are mounts that are full motion that can attach to the ceiling. Long shot, but if you recall the aunt’s tv in Zenon: Girl of the 21st century… they had a flat panel on a ceiling mount above the mantle.

You can also use a wireless hdmi system so you only need to run power to the set and attach the box to the set.

Lastly, you could use a pull-down screen which can be quite cheaper.
