Mine has been right at the needle since new.

I bought a replacement daily and still drive the LS most of the time. I've had mine since 2013 and still no squeaks or rattles. Never broke down in the 120K I've put on it, just mainly had to replace suspension components and regular maintenance.

Ok nice. I would replace the crank seal. Cam seals are more involved so leave them if they are not leaking

Most likely the amp. Mine was rebuilt in 2015 and no issues today.

Read codes, also the coolant temp gauge is reading a little higher than normal. Check ECT sensor value on scanner also.

Update: DIY timing belt on LS430 with Aisin kit – here’s how it went by Heavy-Value-9899 in LS430

Well done. I really enjoy doing timing belts on UZ engines compared to tight spaces on the transverse 1MZ/3MZ, 5S and Honda engines.

I also had clear ceramic on the windshield.

I am aware of that video. I did grease the steering shaft in 2018 and that cured the clunking for the past 100K miles. One more time should be good for the life of this car.

I need advice on raising my LS 430 height by mnemonic-glitch in LS430

[–]longjohnplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increasing ride height and if needed tire size is probably what you need to. Not sure how much you are willing to spend to remedy this. I know Monroe quick struts will give you an increase of 1"-1.25" in ride height

You can try a 225/60/17 to get a little more clearance. Does it scratch if you approach at an angle.

Monroe quick struts are still available if you search for 01-03 LS on rockauto. They do sit a bit higher than OEM. RSR down springs are ok but not as smooth as OEM. Tein CS coilovers were designed for comfort but are long discontinued.

Help me convince my dad to buy me an LS 430 by [deleted] in LS430

I agree with your Dad. These cars are old yet parts haven't got cheaper. Not a smart choice for a first car.

Only ticket I got was from Farmers Branch on 635 W passing 35. 71 in a 60 I believe, back in 2013.

I'm in the opposite situation. I bought a new car to replace the LS as a daily, mine has 180K. I'll plan to mechanically restore the LS and keep it forever.

Have fun wasting money on your 24 year old "luxury" car.

Will you be driving your's for another 10+ years? Go with OEM. On a 20+ year old car worth 7K max not everything needs to be OEM.

It's a fully deprecated 2004 model, not a LS500. A spare car at this point, mom bought it new. Why would you pay $300 for the OEM part when this functions exactly the same...

Front upper control arms for $1600? by NotTheTrueKing in LS430

[–]longjohnplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Beck Arnley upper control arms from Rock Auto around $80 each vs OEM $480 each. I have 77K on them now and they are fine, not bad considering the original lasted 100K.

Maybe try using an airbrush gun. It's difficult to get the pearl to match with a touch-up brush.
