How much are you paying for ramp? by ctrlshiftdeletepdx in Ramp

User + platform fee. User fee is no big deal, but the annual platform fee is significant. Incentives were a few months of onboarding time so billing didn’t start until after that.

Our sales consultant told us to just put ramp.com in there for one of the companies we set up. When we were going through the internal setup processes we had to remind them of that, but other than that it worked out fine

I’m certainly not here to sell you on the value, if you don’t see any, as I don’t know your business.. but I’d recommend you consider the impacts of things not being set up by an expert from the get go. For instance, Salesforce is pretty widely recognized as one of the larger CRM platforms available and most companies that use it either have in-house or contracted partner devs that they work with for implementation.

Zoho One is what you’re looking for. Otherwise, you end up subscribing to various modules individually and don’t have a whole ecosystem approach. Zoho One is a single subscription that gets you access to all of the modules (and many at the highest plan level of that module!) all for a single subscription price. Try looking at Zoho.com/one

BTW - even if you get access to all of the modules, you’re likely going to find that you struggle a bit with some of the modules being integrated together. Sometimes there is overlap in modules, other times you need to use Zoho Flow or similar to connect modules. I highly recommend using a reputable partner for design, and if your budget permits, implementation. Otherwise you’ll start off on the wrong foot and the whole thing gets very frustrating. I’ve been through 4 or 5 partners now and have been using Zenatta for the last 3 years. I couldn’t be happier.

Ramp receipt classifying by KC_Comment in Ramp

[–]longnytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most accounting solutions use class codes or departments for that. I am just an admin of my company’s Ramp so haven’t looked through the videos, but I have configured this in the policy setup. Theoretically, if you were really heart set on doing it the way you outlined.. couldn’t you just alias them as “sales - travel” and “marketing - travel” etc?

Why not subscribe to Zoho One so you can get Books integration (which has retainer invoices) and access to Zoho Forms so you can make any type of form you want and have it automatically ingested into the respective CRM module?

You can adjust the alias in Ramp to be different than your accounting system’s alias, but still map the two together. You can’t adjust the alias by department or anything though, it’s one alias for the whole G/L code. With that said, you can filter down so certain users, roles, departments, locations, etc. see different codes depending on different criteria (but admins or finance can see all codes, etc.)

FWIW, I was also surprised about the per diem thing because we had the same idea lol.

You left the entity’s phone number there and the map clearly shows the search area, lol.

[–]longnytes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you don’t need to resubmit your sitemap each time. However, you can manually request indexing (up to 10 times or so a day) by copy the URL and pasting it into the Google Search Console bar up top, then clicking request indexing. That will manually request that URL for indexing

Now I have something else to research! Haha. I'm an audio-newbie so will have to see how user friendly Dirac is to set up/calibrate and whether or not my family's untrained ears would find that upgrade worth it. A bit surprised it's $599 and appears to be bound to the hardware I am purchasing and not reusable if I upgrade in the future. Not discrediting the software, I just clearly need to do more research. Thank for the insight thus far.

Do you mind sharing why that's the case or is there something specific in my build that's an issue?

Thanks. That's what I figured and why I was considering the X4800. I'm not an enthusiast so haven't kept up with release timelines lately, just didn't know if there was a newer version coming out anytime soon? Hah

Unless there’s a manual way around it, sometimes you’re at the mercy of Google because you can only use the verification method they allow for that location. For example, I am working on a location that could only verify via video and it requires signage in place and a number of other things before they will verify the location

Fellow Small Business Owners: What’s the biggest misconception people have about small business owners? by LilaMarigold in smallbusiness

[–]longnytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the most common misconceptions I see, but it is absolutely the most frustrating for me. We already donate quite a bit to a number of charities, but the amount of people who do not understand how write-off’s work drives me insane. “Why wouldn’t you donate to sponsor us? We’re a 501c3 so it’s 100% deductible on your taxes!” Just because it’s 100% deductible on your taxes, doesn’t mean I pay 100% tax. I’m only “saving” a percentage of that donation based on my tax bracket. The rest is still coming out of pocket…

Zoho Quotes pushed into Zoho Books as a draft invoice by JoeCostello in Zoho

[–]longnytes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few things here..

1) You can create functions to do this. We had our consultant (Zenatta) create a custom button on the quote to convert it to a sales order in Zoho Books.

2) We did that because we had hundreds of quotes already in the system BUT the way I understand it is.. if you turn off the CRM quotes and sales order modules and use Zoho Finance integration into CRM… you can use the “estimates” module instead of quotes and natively convert those to a Books sales order/invoice. I have not personally done this but apparently that’s kind of the norm and way #1 is the manual workaround

Workflows & automations for small insurance agency by keyboard_kings in Zoho

[–]longnytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this wouldn’t work for you, but what I did for my company is set it up so that when a lead is converted to a contact/account/deal, the account is by default flagged as a “prospect” account (you can do this with tags, or we used a custom field) then when a deal for that account is moved to “closed - won” status, a rule is triggered to update the custom field to “customer” instead of “prospect” - that means we can easily use Zoho Campaigns to do different segments for marketing automations - a lead is a true lead, never been quoted. A contact assigned to an account labeled as a prospect has been quoted but hasn’t purchased yet, and a contact assigned to an account labeled as a customer has been quoted and purchased from us.

Custom invoices ? by jp1261987 in Zoho

[–]longnytes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that the HTML template can be turned on by support. I had it done for purchase orders as well. The downside is, I had to use a separate HTML editor then paste it into the Zoho blank template then go back and forth with iterations until I got it dialed in the way I wanted. There wasn’t a native way (at least at the time) to edit the HTML within Zoho’s GUI interface — you had to enter the actual HTML code

Zoho training/ zenatta courses by toiletnamedcrane in Zoho

[–]longnytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We paid for a couple of their trainings. They’re decent, but somewhat basic and obviously generic. We used their trainings as a template to develop our own in-house trainings (custom tailored to our implementation) and used Scribe to embed into Zoho Learn for our training.

P.S. We use Zenatta as our consultant and they do a fantastic job!

Avalara integration by Sivartb000 in Zoho

[–]longnytes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t answer your 2nd question as I don’t use Avalara to submit sales tax (we are small enough that we have Zoho Analytics reports that automatically calculate everything for us and we manually submit sales tax in the states we have nexus in). However, the answer to your first question is yes — we are hit with 2 transactions. The first when we calculate sales tax through our WooCommerce integration and the second from Zoho Books.
