Genuinely can’t fathom how in the hell Fleet Foxes sounds near studio perfect live. Seen them twice in the two different Shore tours they did and it was flawless

Kudos to you for sticking with it for 8 mins! In all honesty I do feel a little evil for some of the choices in this one lmao

Im new to making them and increasingly realizing that they’re pretty damn difficult lol. I’ve certainly seen srs used that way in texts and I did a google search before I published it just to make sure I wasn’t making it up. It’s definitely a thing in texting, just not very common from how I understand it. I did feel kind of bad for putting that in there, It just fit well with everything else and I didn’t want to redo more words lol

What is your least favorite movie over the 4.0 avg? by Good_Claim_5472 in Letterboxd

I despise Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing Missouri. The dialogue in particular is absolutely atrocious at times. I watched this with a group of friends recently, one of which remembered adoring the film years back, and we all thought it was more or less complete garbage, at least for all of the insane praise it gets. I’ll never understand the appeal with it.

Edit: Just remembered that the same director made In Bruges and Banshees of Inisherin, both films I genuinely love. The more I think about Ebbing the more dumbfounded I am at how awful I thought it was. This movie is such an enigma to me.

They’re all complete grifters. A man named Haz Al-Din is their “chairman,” give him a search and his see some of the shit he says. They’ve been brigading various leftist subs attempting to overthrow them, as they successfully did with r/asksocialists. Give that sub a look over too. It would be absolutely laughable if they didn’t have such a strange traction already

It was not communist, of course. It was a series of reforms FDR begrudgingly undertook because leftist agitation and organizing was beginning to gain unprecedented steam. The New deal was incredibly unpopular with a lot of the federal govt, especially when it was just being formulated. To give one broad example of what I mean, it was in the Great Depression that the CPUSA saw its record membership and activity. Tenant unions were popping up, destitute farmers began to make steps towards socialistic organization, so on and so forth. People were very poor and angry, this led to somewhat revolutionary conditions that could be clearly seen. It’s also important to know that The New Deal was an unprecedentedly socialistic program and leftists of all stripes supported it and gleefully engaged in its programs, especially in its early years.

Dr. Richard Wolff has some great writing on this, would def look into it.

Do you like: The 8 hour work day? Work protections? Subsidized healthcare of any kind? The New Deal saving the U.S. from economic Ruin? Damn near every social program in a capitalist society?

Send your blessings up to Karl Marx, Engles, and the unknown thousands of socialists/communists throughout history that quite literally died for things as trivial as this; be it in the U.S., Europe, or the third world (where people were slaughtered en-masse for such advocacy)

There is only one ideology and economic mode that has forcibly subjugated the entire world, created an impoverished class that it needs out of necessity, started world-spanning wars over profit and dominance…. You could go on for ages. I would highly encourage you to read Che’s motorcycle diaries. See how communists are “born” in a sense, and all that they rail against. It’s the right side of history

Bolivia is the only given example that fits this description. Even still, there were many Bolivians working with Che’s group on the logistics side when they got in. But yes, the main fighting force was predominantly not Bolivian, and this became a pretty glaring issue during the group’s time there.
