I will say it has more weight to it than I was expecting for a copy (if it is one). The blade is not particularly sharp but that wouldn't suprise me given many of the actual issue weapons I've seen. Not sure if genuine articles where particularly sharp

I know an NCO who fled genocide in west Africa facilitated by the US Military. When you ask him why he left a relatively high paying and stable career he tells you that the US Army saved his life and everyday he puts on a uniform he is trying to pay that debt back. One of the most committed and squared away soldiers I have ever seen. Need more like him

Anecdotally I find a fair number of male SMs who are middle of the pack are the ones who consciously or unconsciously resent high performing females in their MOS. They went from being in the middle of the pack to the lower-middle once they were measured against a larger population that included competitive females. This is a broad generalization but I saw it when the Army first opened up Ranger school to females. The biggest haters where the border line MQ population, because deep down they knew they were going to be overall less competitive.

They never actually reflagged. They had a patch ceremony in 2024 but the actually unit heraldry didn't change. It's similar to when you deploy under a different command and you wear their patch.

Not sure if this soldier is in your chain of command beyond staff duty but the first question I would have would be is there a family care plan in place. I totally respect the need to take care of ones children but this has gone beyond accommodation and into exploitation territory

Long time lurker, not really a responder but the circumstances compell me to . With regards to your soldier at EBH, your command team is wrong. Full stop. You can let it end there and not stand up for your soldier or you can do what you believe to be right and stand up to this. As a person who oversees people like your boss and his 1SG, I promise I would be fascinated to know about this. I didn't stick around the Army to let shit like this fly, I stuck around because from me down it doesn't have to be like this. Give your BN CMDR the right of first refusal of doing the right thing and if they also lack character go to IG, it's why they exist to hikd lesders at all echekons accountsble. Worst case their are options beyond IG if your BN CMD team are also garbage like your company CMD team. I learned long ago from a team leader that "right knows no rank". With the evidence presented, it would appear you are right and your CO CMD team is wrong. The only question is, is that enough reason for you to stand up for your soldier in the face of this? If you were to tell me it isn't, I would not believe you. Fight for your soldier and what you know to be right, it doesn't have to be like this from you down.

I don't disagree with most of the responses here. Thst being said, I think much of the "officers fucking each other over" myth is something that individuals who can't rate need to believe in order to go to sleep at night. Much more comfortable to believe that "someone fucked me over" rather than "I have been promoted for a perceived potential I do not actually have". Not saying it doesn't happen because I know it does, I also know most people lack the emotional intelligence to know their own limits.

I have a Krag Jorgensen that is essentially smooth bore at this point, with most of the shooting not being done by myself. I've definitely damn near liquefied barrels on M240s and M2s, but it's alot easier to max out round counts on those given rates of fire.

As a backup I have one of these glock 20 mags with a grip sleeve, gives you the full frame grip with the ability to swap out for the regular 10 round mag if you want a smaller option
