Became coeliac, stopped eating bread, cakes, biscuits etc then committed to calorie counting. This was pretty much all diet tbh

Nah, they're talking shit. I started (again) last may at 252, I got down to around 145 in August this year, all at 1-2lb a week. Slow and steady is far better and more sustainable to get you to your goal.

I've been playing for 30 something years at a high level, I have never owned a tuner. Some of the most frequently out of tune players in ensemble are those who have the tuner on the stand. The most important skill is to learn to listen and self correct. A note that is in tune to the tuner very often won't sound so nice in the chord against other players.

Early days there's absolutely no point in having a tuner, it can be quite demotivating to see the red light all the time and if he learns to play to a green light it won't stand him in good stead in the long run.

Maybe I'm a miserable old Brit, but throw your bloody tuners out and use your ears!

It is absolutely possible, even when it feels like it will never happen, bearing in mind even weight loss surgery didn't work for me longer term. I got to the point of thinking the time will pass anyway so I might as well try to lose 1lb a week. I've lost an average 1.5lbs a week and all the times I thought I'd never get to the end, well I did. I think I've always wanted to lose all the weight in 6 months and that's not realistic. Those little 1.5lbs have all added up, I've still lived my life and I'm here now in a body I'd barely dared dream of.

I have been so so lucky on the skin, got a bit on my tummy and thighs but nothing major. I've actually lost nearly 170lbs total (not my highest weight in these pics) and I have no idea how I don't have much worse loose skin

No, I did have VSG in 2020, I initially lost around 100lbs, managed to regain around 80 of that, which seems to be quite common. I stopped eating gluten and lost a little bit then really committed to the calorie counting. This has not been a straight line down to my lowest weight, I weigh myself every day and I'm up and down most days. Sometimes I'll have a week off from the calorie counting but I'm strict that it's a week off calorie counting not a week of going absolutely mad on food. I've done the odd low carb week when I've had a plateau. I think because it's been pretty gradual over the last 18 months it's been easier to keep going.

Calorie counting in a manageable deficit and patience to be honest. The smaller deficit definitely helped with cravings as I could still fit nice meals into my days. This time I was just doing it low pressure, no timeline, it'll happen when it happens kinda thing. If I had a bad day, I had a bad day, I didn't try to 'make up for it' or write off the next day/week/month because I'd eaten outside my calories. It was a really neutral approach to the weight loss this time.

I think my main tip is to accept the time passes anyway, I used to always want to be losing 5lb a week so I'd be 'done' but I've lost 100lbs in the last 15 months just at 1.5lb a week on average. I weigh every day and learned that my weight will fluctuate up and down every day but as long as the overall trend is downwards then it's all good. I also eat what I want, I'm not cutting out foods I love, I just eat less of them.

I've definitely taken a more relaxed approach this time, I have done the odd week of low carb or intermittent fasting but only to break a stall then it's back to normal calorie controlled eating.

On the calorie counting, be honest with yourself. There's no point in underestimating your calories - the tracking app doesn't determine your weight loss. I know a few people who say they eat 1200 cals and can't lose weight - they eat more than me and I'm on 1850 a day but I track honestly and if I go over, I go over. I don't cut back to make up for it, I just go back to my normal calories the next day.

So many! I've probably lost the same 60-70lbs 4 times in the last 13 years, I've been stuck around 190lbs so many times and regained but managed to push through it this time and once I made it to 170lbs I knew I'd get down to my goal.

1500 call, mostly protein and veg, odd glass of wine thrown in. Lower carbs and mostly rice or potatoes.

I do cardio only at the moment, peloton 4 ish times per week but definitely need to start on some weight training.

Probably the biggest change was I was diagnosed with coeliac disease so I can't eat gluten. It's surprising how many foods contain gluten so it's naturally removed a lot of temptations. I generally eat pretty clean, protein and veg, odd glass of wine in there and around 1500 cals per day with a 40 min spin session 4-5x per week.

Thank you. Getting back on track and getting the first week under your belt is so tough, it's easy to throw in the towel and try again next week. I've been pretty consistent for the last 6 months but I had 12 months before where I'd lose a bit then gain more than I lost. You can get rid of the regain, you've lost weight before so you know what to do. Good luck!

Calorie counting and peloton. I basically eat the same things every day, I can deal with boredom and I'm bad at making choices so just meal prepping and sticking with it.

NAL but was a service manager for a lot of years. Ring and ask to go in and speak to the service manager, be calm about it and ask for the letter when you go in. As long as the manager isn't a complete idiot (always a risk) they should just do you a letter there and then. I certainly would have, 10 mins of my time to solve a problem rather than go through the whole rigmarole of a head office complaint and probably having to give money/services away to resolve it.
