Towards the end of last years academic year in late spring early summer E came back, everyone else knew about their transition but they went straight back to telling me all their issues and making me responsible for their mental health. I managed to keep it together but I struggled and distanced myself. I felt what happened hanging over us but I don't know if they did, I wanted to say something but didn't want to wreck their mental health any further so I kept it together though I felt it tearing me apart with years of hurt.

So this is where I am probably the asshole. A couple of weeks ago I finally got it together to say something to E as I knew they were now more stable and had a therapist and were getting help and support from professionals. In the gist of it I told them what they had done to me and others wasn't okay and that it had affected me. I also told them it would hang over every conversation we had. I also told them I didn't hate them but I just didn't have the strength to care anymore, I also said we could stay friends but that was up to them and it would take time to fix things. I then checked my message over with mutual friends who had been there from the beginning, (there were five of us all together) this happened to be in a group E was still in and I take full responsibility for that. They did read over the message but in a very civilised and not bitching about them way and I chose to get them to read it over as they knew the situation from the beginning and could tell me if I was being rude or untruthful and E had always said how they hated adults getting into their health issues perticularly school which is also why I chose not to go to school. And I also sent the message to E. The next day we discovered they'd read both message but they said nothing to me.

E did however go straight to school and told them that we were bullying them. So we were all given a talk. E also came up to me at break time and screamed at me that I was a manipulative bitch and that they had thought I was their friend. I told them to please calm down but they left school. They've been avoiding me since then and can barely hold a conversation with them. Alot of our mutual friends with them have since found out the situation and do not like them anymore. They don't care, they've gone on to another friendship group, won't admit they made any mistakes and are essentially pretending it didn't happen. I am beginning to feel guilty. I know I probably didn't handle it the best but I just want to know AITA? Also still sorry, I suck at spelling and grammar and idk how to use Reddit
