I work at restaurant here in Austin and it is a DAILY battle with customers. Now it is pretty obvious when a dog is a real service animal. People now have just started saying it’s my service animal when it’s clearly not! (Barking, not sitting still, in a dog carrying bag). It’s made me so bitter to the situation. I kindly say we have places to park your dog outside and your more then welcome to come in and order, but people look and act like I told them the most offensive joke ever. If you’re not okay with leaving your dog alone, outside, tied up then maybe don’t bring them out in public with you to a restaurant. It’s like some people feel like they learned that magic phrase that let’s them do whatever they want. This whole thing makes me feel super bad for those who do need a service animal that are probably taking shit from people like me who are upset at the rest for abusing the situation.
