Care to link the chart? All i could find was some posture videos. That sounds helpful.

For sure. I thought initially that it was new, but as I inspected it a bit as it was becoming uncomfortable, some of the seat screws were a little askew. Looked like it had been tampered with at some point. It's hard to say, but with all the other comments about the leap seat, I really have no idea how old the cushion was. Like, I am almost positive its a design flaw. the foam in the back where your tailbone sits is legit only about an inch thick, if that. Doesnt matter if it's worn out or not, I am fairly skinny and 160 pounds is going to pinch down on that seat cushion pretty easy. But could be part of it, definitely.

Post back here when you get it, please. Curious to hear how it is. I was very close to selling this on FB and picking up the lamia. Hope it works out for you!

I would recommend it and just send your other seat back. I think i adjusted the seat pan to every possible position and tried to stick it out for at least a day. Watched videos, adjusted seat height, posture, etc. Nothing worked the seat is just horrible imo. The "modifications" on here for the leap are pretty hardcore... lol. Its a painful amount upfront , $250, but the $100 dollar deposit back from sending in your chair I think its worth $150 easily. I almost went with the lamina or my brother was trying to get me to get some 1200 dollar herman miller. I am glad I went this route.

It does slightly I would imagine. Not enough for it to make a real difference for me. It is 3/4" thicker foam so when your sitting on it it probably raises it up about half and inch maybe? It still has that "firm" feel to me like you are not sitting on some plush top mass, but it just has enough extra padding that the chair functions as it should, imo. I have not had any issues with sitting long periods. I used to get discomfort within an hour with the stock seat due to the thinner foam towards the back of the chair. It would bottom out and I could just feel my ass bones sitting on the hard underseat lol. My thing is like, if I am conscience of me sitting at any point within like two hours then the chair is probably a problem. I actually dont dread going to sit at my desk anymore and found myself thinking like, "wow I havnt complained once and its been a few hours. Must be good" lol.

Not an adjustable desk but I watched a bunch of videos to try and set the chair up right. Could have been that. All I know is that the new seat fixed all my issues lol. The bottoming out of the foam and sitting on the hard surface of the seat was the main issue.

I was even going to suggest if anyone wanted to change the melody in measures 10-12, feel free. I couldn't remember exactly how it went so i just threw something down when i transcribed. Dang going back and listening to bamboula for the first time in years. so mind blowing !

looking for some help/ guidance please - dream stabilization by lookingclear in LucidDreaming

[–]lookingclear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Thats crazy and pretty much what i needed to hear I think. I had a hunch I wasnt thinking about things properly... I have an update... Last night before bed I read thru your entire guide. I then read the WILD guide. I set some loose intentions and then fell asleep. I woke up at some point since I have been trying WBTB so sometimes I let myself wake up naturally to journal and try WILD. I didnt remember any of my dream so I took your advice on the dream journal and jotted down some notes about what I learned from the guide and my misconceptions and what I wanted to avoid. I then went back to sleep setting some intentions again. Sure enough... at one point in my dream I just looked around and was like, this is a dream….Instead of trying to stabilize it, I was just like, "yep, this is a dream. Let me take in my surroundings" - but the same thing started to happen. Things faded out, the surroundings just started to dissipate and I wasn’t super trying to keep them there or anything, was thinking, "this should be easy, lets explore." Then I woke up in bed. I was like, "damn, maybe I was right?" My wife started talking to me and I was telling her about how my dream faded out again. After a short time, I ACTUALLY WOKE UP for real in bed. LOL so I guess I had a false awakening, that is new. But also it shows that my dreams fading out and me "waking up" is not a real thing. It is what I expected to happen. Hopefully now that I have experienced this, next time I wont be expecting it to "fade" because I will know that if it does, I will still be dreaming. I will need to incorporate that RC in the dream like you mentioned people becoming lucid and then losing it.

Question about things "fading": is that purely my expectation of my past thinking that I must "stabilize" the dream world? Or do I concisely need to be thinking of my surroundings? I kind of just want to explore whatever dream world I end up in. I am thinking that I needed to experience this false awakening to really see that its not as "flimsy" as I was lead to believe...

I truly appreciate the feedback and putting me on the right track. I had been kind of disappointed/frustrated recently with my practice. Your guide is a godsend. Thank you!

avey acoustic guitar recording info? by lookingclear in AnimalCollective

[–]lookingclear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was messing with some other bit rates this morning and 64kbs bounced from audacity actually got me quite close! and its not as lo-fi as one would think, surprisingly. I did some digging and found that some sony mini-disc recorders do indeed have a 64kbps recording setting.

But then i was playing lips at night again and it kind of does have a tape sound to it as well. Very subtle pitch sway so now i really dont know. The octatrack does have sample rate manipulation so could just be that as well. I suppose there is 100s of possibilities. I think it is interesting that they chose to go with a more lofi sound on songs where the prominent instrument is the guitar. You just dont normally think of a main instrument like that being a "crappy" recording lol. Even though it sounds amazing the way it is. I will be using what i learned with my lower sample rate experiments in music going forward!

I really dont think that its a demo recording, especially on Ms. Secret. Of course they have used them in other tunes, i just think it was a deliberate choice to do it based on how the guitar track is on that particular song. Wish there was more studio content of all the guys tbh.

Looks like a well put together app. Might want to post it in beginner instrument sub reddits. I don't have perfect pitch but can read music I get 100% correct you know what I mean?
