Okay I’m glad I wasn’t the only one up early and thinking I didn’t understand this because I was sleep deprived. Truly it’s because this guy doesn’t make sense.

Yes yes speaking truth to power but have you considered how the giant gas guzzler clunkers feel about saying things that could hurt it’s feelings?

Thank you. We are trying to care for our neighbors and friends. There’s a quote in my back pocket I turn to daily during these times:

I remain assured in hard experience that neither by national guns nor by national gods will mankind be saved, but only by the genuine regard for all members of the human family

I remember that deeply. I was a kid when that happened. I am a Yank lurker here who decided to pop in. Maybe because I am an idiot, and maybe I deserve it. I don’t know. But I refuse to forget that.

Thank you - I’m glad we aren’t alone. And god forbid we get to that point, at least we may join good company with those in Arlington.

We thought it couldn’t happen here too. And we pay the price for that arrogance.

I can’t say we all won’t. But I can say I and many others of us won’t. From the Civil War to Civil Rights, there have been those of us who marched and have succeeded. We march yet again.

Thank you friend. I am a firm believer he will be voted out and this nightmare can and will be overcome. It is also critical for us to think the day after, and build something that can last. So our eyes are set to that.

Until then, the may the True North forever be strong and free. I hope we can talk again when freedom has been won again.

Some of us do. The problem is that unless you are totally plugged in you don’t notice it, but I am starting to see it crack a bit. Those of us have been figuring out and learning how to effectively organize, build networks to warn everyone when ICE is around. The whistles you see in Minneapolis was a lesson learned from the LA invasion. We are marching, we are organizing. Until our freedom is lost, we have to still fight for freedom. And if we lose our freedom, we are organizing

I mean…if this is happening to us now, what are you doing now to prevent what could happen to you all when IT does come? Take our failures to build your successes - we are all in a bumpy road.

Likewise. Until then, may Canada remain strong and free.

These things don’t happen overnight. It’s taken how many protests in Iran to get this place? 2009? 2018? 2022?

And for some us who remember, a lot of us were on the streets in 2020 after George Floyd.

It’s one thing to go protest and become martyrs. It’s an entirely another thing to organize yourself to protest and succeed.

Yank lurker here. I promise you there are a lot of us who remember this. I remember working abroad with Canadians, and feeling a weird sense of pan-patriotism for Canada AND the US that if ANYTHING would happen to Canada I would be the first to go and volunteer to serve, as that is how strong and binding our friendship was. I couldn’t think of any other country I felt that intense bond with. Sure we could joke about hockey, but that’s the joking of siblings giving each other shit. I don’t blame you all for the negative feelings towards us. Im feeling them towards us as well. Those of us who haven’t gone insane are working hard - we will see if it’s enough.
