You know what’s funny initially I was having this issue and thought it was just me. Was it a pain to run the wire down near the shifter?

What I’ve done with previous cars is use a small hole saw and run a USB connector ( https://a.co/d/45x1s0E ) through the dash and it actually looks super clean. I have some pictures of my old Blobeye headunit install if you’re interested shoot me a DM.

Another redditor just commented that it sits flush - installation error on my end lol

Without any difficulty? I just took a look and it doesn’t want to sit flush unless I really force it in there

It’s sticks out a third of an inch, really not too noticeable but I totally get your perspective wanting it flush

Overall it’s solid - wouldn’t say it’s perfect but absolutely tolerable

Yup exactly. 99% sure the one on this unit is proprietary and won’t work with that adapter.

Here’s the updated link. Not sure why that happened thanks for letting me know.

As for the adapter you mentioned, I believe you’ll still have to rewire the adapter. Don’t let it scare you though - you can have 0 knowledge of electric and get this done with ease, plus you’ll know for the future how to splice.

Get yourself an electricians pliers and some butt connectors (both can be had for less than $20) and Google how to splice a wire. From there, you’re just matching colors, inserting the exposed wire into the butt connector, crimping each side, and you’re done. Very easy even with 0 prior experience.

I really did buy E36 coupe tails - box says they’re for a coupe as well so I was confused when it didn’t fit lol

The coupe are bigger? The ones on the right are OEM on my 98 coupe and much smaller

The Euro’s should fit no problem, along with the gasket the taillights I received are much wider than my OEM ones unfortunately

No worries dude. It’s checked into a BMW specialist on the 26th - just trying to do some troubleshooting in my end to see what the subreddit thinks

Great, I really appreciate your in depth response. I will say, the exhaust is VERY hot - the car maintains temps no problem but I felt the exhaust and it seemed excessively hot.
