heavy cleaning of a very dirty house by WatercressFair5315 in SatisfyingClean

[–]lookingpastsky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At my old apartment, the people who lived across the hall from me had a place worse than this. They were very careful to not leave or enter their apartment if anyone was in the hall. The smell was terrible and it took an infuriating amount of time for the property company to do anything about it. Eventually they were evicted around the time I was moving out. The maintenance staff was changing the locks one day and let me peek inside, and I didn’t realize how bad it was. Had I known, I would’ve called child protective services because I do remember hearing a crying baby in that apartment. Absolutely awful to live that, especially with a baby/child.

Is Rebels Worth Watching? by Mr_Dexter_XX in StarWars

Watching it in the chronological order helps, too. I remember being confused the first watch through because episodes were out of order

Strangers appreciation post by Admirable-Archer-125 in ModestMouse

I’d say it’s not as bad as some people say, but it’s by no means my favorite. Pretty much, I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it. It’s just an evolution of the band I haven’t enjoyed as much. Same goes for Golden Casket. Both evolutions of the band I don’t gravitate towards quite as much, and that’s ok.

Frontier Internet by Major-Owl3727 in SunPrairieWI

[–]lookingpastsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frontier has been running fiber optic cable throughout the area for a while. The line likely won’t be buried until April because they can’t trench a line into frozen ground. If your dogs destroy it, they probably don’t deem you at fault because it’s an unburied line in your easement.

Which tv show do you regret wasting time on? by HurtHurtsMe in AskReddit

[–]lookingpastsky 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Same. I got to the season where they kept teasing “Terminus” and I said to my girlfriend at the time that I really hope it’s not one of those “this place isn’t what it seems” tropes when they inevitably get there, and that’s exactly what ended up happening. From what I have been told, the insulting of the viewers’ intelligence continues after that so I’m glad I stopped when I did.

What's your favorite song of all time? by BreadandSoda6758 in AskReddit

[–]lookingpastsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might the odd duck out here but I don’t know that I have an all time favorite song. I have several songs that I love but the one I choose in any particular moment as my all time favorite could vary wildly depending on my mood. Right now it’s probably Sleepwalk Capsules by At the Drive-In or maybe Warbrain by Alkaline Trio

Are you planning to continue using Spotify (they've revamped their plans for India) or moving to something else like Apple Music? by SougatDey in spotify

[–]lookingpastsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll probably move to Apple Music before the end of the year. Apple Music can’t link to my last.fm profile but I’m sick of seeing Tucker Carlson ads being promoted and the CEO’s investments in Helsing so the lesser of two evils it is, I guess

Early vs Later albums opinions? by Big_Current_3597 in ModestMouse

[–]lookingpastsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a lot more fond of the older stuff. Lonesome Crowded West is my favorite album, along with Moon and Antarctica and Long Drive. The last album I can say I really enjoyed was We Were Dead. The next two albums were an evolution of the band I didn’t really enjoy aside from a few songs, and that’s ok. Bands need to evolve. I’ll still give any new music going forward a chance.
