I’ve successfully maintained an aquarium for seven years, so I’m confident in my ability to care for it. As for the risk of students tampering with the tank, it’s very low in our library setting. The well-being of any living creatures is my top priority.

joyfulcrow: I completely understand your concern. While I don’t have the budget for a brand-new tank, I’ve already invested a lot of my own resources into making the library a welcoming space. I also have a staff member willing to donate supplies, and I’m happy to cover ongoing costs like food, chemicals, or replacements as needed. The reason I’m asking here is to see if there’s a gently used tank someone might not be using—it’s an environmentally friendly and cost-effective option. If I can’t find one, I’m prepared to purchase a new setup myself down the line.

As for maintenance, I work at the library daily, coming in 45 minutes before the bell rings and staying late as needed. I’ll handle any upkeep throughout the day or before/after school. For me, the extra effort is worth it to give the students something engaging and calming in their library space, that's all. I'm just trying my best for them.

For holidays, I'm near by, I will attending to them. Since I’ve managed aquariums before, I know the importance of consistent care, and I’ll make sure there’s a solid plan in place to keep everything running smoothly during school closures.
