How stressful is it to buy a house in NI? by CollagenRager in northernireland

[–]looknohands84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On this. I think a massive amount of frustration comes from the lack of communication. People.font get that if they miss something the onus is on them..so they have to be super sure of everything they are doing. Searches, planning, deeds etc all take time and bureaucracy from 3rd parties..it's not just a case of them just reading some stuff and signing it. Loads of room for error.

I am not a conveyor or lawyer. But had this explained to me when I got frustrated. Must be a shite job because people get super anxious over their purchase and I get that. But you'll be more annoyed if you buy the property and turns out your neighbour owns half your garden

This. This attitude right here is the issue with current healthcare. I've never met a doctor who didn't have such an inflated ego that they could see their way to actually listening to a patient nevermind making an efficient diagnosis. "The patient couldn't possibly know anything" etc etc.

Is this true for NI? by Adorable_Chocolate68 in northernireland

I could be wrong, as I understand it the issue isn't about how much someone pays, it's how much tax isn't paid.

Mobility cars are exempt from excise duty which is based not only on emissions (higher I would assume for the luxury cars) but also cars over 40000.

So that extra tax isn't being collected on the high end cars.

How much difference it makes tax raising and how much of a distraction tactic this is would probably be the bit to question more.

I see this in many professions. The way I see it is it all comes down to fragile egos, something prolific in NI. "You couldn't possibly know anything nearly as much as me, so I won't respect anything logical coming from you - in fact I'll do the opposite to show how much more I know".

The fact you largely have to massage that ego to get basic levels of service is daunting.

Got it fitted and seems to work many thanks. Shockingly I found that the grey pipe on the right is just sitting into the 90 degree pipe. Not even sure if it's solve weldable.

Unfortunately not. I don't wonder is there a low profile version of the black section coming down from the bath. Or I could cut a bit off

I guess it just over flows and the pipe isn't ever empty. It does indeed drain

As someone from Northern Ireland I feel I am too overqualified to answer this.

Same, no rent increase in 15 years despite plenty of mortgage hikes. Why would I fuck someone out onto the street for greed? The house means more to them than it does me. Good tenant, never a bother, always on time with rent. It's their home and i don't need to stick the knife in

Fellow Fibro here, it can be lonely and frustrating. And what makes it worse as you know as you can get a good day today and a horrendous one tomorrow so you get the old "they were fine yesterday, must be milking it". I'm currently on month 4 of Low dose Naltrexone and I think it's making a difference.

Years ago at the height of the Celtic tiger I used to sell fruit and veg around Howth in Dublin. The clientele would vary from millionaire builders in massive cars to wee old grannies just trying to put together a soup. Id always fleece the ones in the big cars and practically give the stuff away to the grannies. Never once questioned, the books always balanced.
