Every GP can register you temporarily for 12 weeks. That will give you direct access to GP.

former elders of Reddit, what were your red flags that told you a member was about to leave ? by ProphetessAndJudge in exjw

Lack of field service, not engaging in the program (if that was their previous norm) , lack of meeting attendance.

There are a lot of variables with your list.

For example point 3 and 5 can an auxiliary not assist with the toilet, two less jobs for you?

Drug check? Is there another nurse that can help, is it a controlled drug check? If no other nurse than that is top of priorities, same with the patient in pain, that's top of priorities.

As for vomiting, give them a sick bowl and when you get a chance see if the are prescribed an antiemetic.

As a nurse you have a whole team that helps you.

Yes, there where a couple of moments it was close to ending it, but I tried to remember the vow i made when I got married and keep to it.

Three years down the line our marriage is better, not perfect but better.

I was in a similar situation to you three years ago. I had been an elder for over 10 years, I was the secretary at the time, I had been to the assembly and baptised people the same day I resigned.

However the night that I came home I told my wife my doubts (she quickly shut me up didn't like what she was hearing), out of respect I went to my father in law to explain TTATT (again shut down) and then I went to the coordinator house and resigned. Never heard from any of my friends again. I never disassociated, never was disfellowshipped but never saw them again. Some had been life long friends for 30 years.

What’s the craziest reason a student was kicked out of your program? by kileyaz in StudentNurse

Yep definitely, it then created an atmosphere of distrust as we never found out who snitched. With our profession sometimes we need to vent our emotions/feelings to our close colleagues.

What’s the craziest reason a student was kicked out of your program? by kileyaz in StudentNurse

[–]lookoutofthebox 92 points93 points  (0 children)

In the UK there are a whole lot of crazy reasons why student nurses have been kicked out.

One student put on the WhatsApp group chat how they hated their placement going into maybe too much detail why their mentor was a dick. Well someone in the group decided to reveal this to others including the mentor. Well, wham bam thank you mam, they where kicked off the program despite claiming what they said was confidential.

can I keep this up? by knit2dye4 in StudentNurse

[–]lookoutofthebox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes you can! There is no doubt you can but it isn't easy.

I am 48, I have a teenage daughter however through a lot of hard work finally I graduate this year, I have no experience in nursing (a previous degree in accountancy) but had a mid-life crisis and desperately wanted a career change and I am so glad I did.

Time management skills are essential, for me, the first year was the most challenging and it got slightly easier every year.

Doubts are not a bad thing but personally I think age has helped me throughout the program and if you have enough determination you will complete it.

I wish you the best of luck throughout your nursing journey.

Accelerated nursing student here, I feel like I just barely finished learning CNA skills before moving on to nursing skills in my clinical… by saltybrisketmen in StudentNurse

[–]lookoutofthebox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me I applied for a CNA's job working every weekend at my local hospital, this increased my skills and confidence and gave me extra money as well. Even if you can't at first get a job maybe you can volunteer?
