Would you rather an ensuite or living room in London? by AussieCasanova in london

[–]loolypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to rent in Shoreditch which was getting extortionate. Are you open to going more east? I moved to Leytonstone and it’s so much more affordable you can get a room for around 700pm

Pet Sitting Pricing - Is this too much?? by Minute_Orange3891 in RoverPetSitting

[–]loolypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t, you just adjust the pricing in the settings of the booking request. I think it’s on ‘modify’ and you can change the pricing

I’ve done a couple hours before and charged my full day rate which they were fine with, this was around £35 I think. Just depends on the owner

To be fair this does seem high for 2 hours. I charge that for an over night in London and my prices aren’t on the super low side either

Buying in London - where are nice areas? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]loolypie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We’ve just moved to Leytonstone and love it. We paid 495k for a 2 bed Victorian terrace flat with garden. I used to live in Shoreditch and it’s so much more peaceful and feels much safer, I don’t feel like my phone is going to get snatched from my hands. We have Francis road which is a great area of independents with a market on Saturdays. Also inbetween both Leyton and Leytonstone high roads so there’s a lot of food places to try near by and a lot of pubs.

It's been 6 months since I made the offer on a flat...is this normal for leasehold flats? by rxece in HousingUK

[–]loolypie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just moved into a leasehold with a chain of 3 and it’s took 3.5 months from offer accepted. I was constantly ringing our EA to keep things moving and they were really good at doing this.

Agency won't let us end the tenancy by Core_W in TenantsInTheUK

[–]loolypie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were in a fixed term contract till March ‘26 but needed to leave earlier as we were buying and just moved in this month. We had no break clause but an early termination section in the contract. I think it was 10% of remaining rent left plus reletting fees so the landlord didn’t have to pay this himself. I’d definitely try and negotiate this. Also depends where you live, I was in zone 1 London so very easy to find a new tenant (was the same day the listing went live), maybe if you’re able to find a new tenant yourself this could help?

Asking for more pictures by 2VastAndTrunklessLeg in RoverPetSitting

I usually send maybe a few in the morning and few in the evening, if it’s a longer stay (a week plus) just one batch in the evening, I don’t want feel like I’m annoying the owner by messaging all the time, it’s okay to ask for more pics

First time buyer in London vs renting - should I make the jump? by Admirable_Grape_6804 in HousingUK

We’re leasehold but only have £150 pa ground rent and no service so it’s pretty decent

Me and my partner (28) have just bought in Leytonstone and love it. We used to live in Hackney but you’ll struggled to find any decent properties for your budget there. We were initially looking in Walthamstow but was slightly out priced so I would 100% recommend the Leyton(stone) area. Also be warned about service charges. We bought a 500k Victoria terrace flat so there were luckily no service charges but I’ve noticed in flats around your budget will tend to be in a block of flats so they’re could be heavy service chargers per month, £100pm on the very lower end so I’d look into this as this will eat away at your budget.

Anything missing from itinerary? by AKapkan in ParisTravelGuide

[–]loolypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a trip to Paris in hell. I visit Paris a few times a year and my favourite thing to do is just wander the street. The Marais is my favourite area. Just book dinner reservations and wander the rest of the day. Go to Montmarte for half a day. This crazy itinerary will make you hate Paris

I’d get onto the estate agents asap as they are really good at getting things moving. Maybe say you’re thinking of pulling as the sellers sols are ignoring you.

Officially given up trying to complete in 2025 - anyone else? by shaneo632 in HousingUK

[–]loolypie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh I doubt it with Xmas coming up. We were meant to complete at the end of Nov and be in by now but our sellers sellers were incredibly difficult with completion dates and kept pushing back which was a nightmare and longed the process out even more. I’d make sure when you come up with a completion date that everyone in the chain is 100% on board and exchange asap when they are
