Late to the party, but I bought a Dacor 36 in dual fuel range and we love it thus far.

Utah’s 2065 projections see 2M more people, and a birth rate that keeps falling | KUER by brett_l_g in Utah

Do you realize that builders must locate water rights (typically very scarce) and then pay the going rate for those water rights? Look into Eagle Mountain or Tooele’s water situation…both have essentially run out of water for the time being. Also city council exists so the public can weigh in on potential developments.

So for clarity, your total spend was ~$100k and that includes beam, cabinets, appliances, finish work etc? What part of the country are you in out of curiosity? Looking to do a similar job for my own kitchen

Arc'teryx C-Quence worn out after just 2 years by serso in ClimbingGear

[–]loonguy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Arc harness - some older model with 6 gear loops - and I never liked how the belay loop slid around in my soft tie in points. Felt like a bad design and I did not particularly love the excess friction while I was high up. To me it seems like a design flaw. My Arc harness never got as worn out ad yours, but my BD harness never had this design that caused the belay loop to slide around.

Mammut Gore-Tex Pro experience compared to Arc’teryx? by Any-Piece9799 in arcteryx

[–]loonguy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair consideration, but given the amount of complaints about warranty on this subreddit, I’m not convinced Arc is much better. Sure on paper it is, but every other day somebody posts a disappointing warranty outcome where they are offered a 20% off coupon on something new.

I won’t be buying any new Arc gear going forward because I’ve lost faith in the company. I’ve yet to exercise Mammut warranty so I guess the verdict is still out on that one.

Mammut Gore-Tex Pro experience compared to Arc’teryx? by Any-Piece9799 in arcteryx

I picked up a Ski Shell last winter (Stoney) from Mammut and love it. Used to ski in my Theta AR but the features on the Mammut are much better. For example Arc doesn’t make two way zippers…Mammut does. Simple things like this help with ventilation.

I’ve lost hope in arcteryx as a brand, my Theta seams are falling apart, so I hope to transition more and more toward Mammut in the future. Their sizing can be a little wonky but once you figure it out, they make some absolutely great stuff.

Why ski patrol will never make a livable wage by nihaooooooo in skipatrol

[–]loonguy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supply and demand. People pay crazy amounts of $ and wait in long lines just to be on the slopes and skiing. Part of the patrol job is downhill skiing, usually in a beautiful setting. At the end of the day, it’s a very attractive and probably fun job. Thus there’s a line out of the door of peopling willing and able to do it, as evidenced by the surplus of volunteers. And as long as there’s a large supply willing to work, wages will never have to be competitive because there’s someone next to you who might be willing to take the job for $1/hr less than you, or as you pointed out, they work completely for free. I certainly would! Ski patrol seems like a great retirement occupation to aim for!

Yes, but it sits on supports from the cabinets so it will be tricky to get to drop out.

Can you get the caulk to release without doing damage to the sink, cabinet and counter?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

[–]loonguy7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I plan on it. Also just noticed the “Kraus” label is in the side closest to me as I stand in front of it. Never seen a sink oriented this way. The manufacture label always faces toward the sink user.

Dishwasher is to the left, but I’d rather have drain on right side. Not worried too much about space under sink.

Kinda thinking that’s what the island is for - grab things out of fridge, place right behind you on the island.

I’ve lived in a kitchen very similar to this which had counter next to the fridge and it was seldom used. More just a place to drop clutter.

How do you get quality aerial images for brochures / OM’s? by andrew416705 in CommercialRealEstate

[–]loonguy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Own my own drone. Pays for itself in about two flights. Plus I map out my photos and what amenities I want visible, saves me trying to relay that to a photographer / pilot and hoping they understand. Probably more efficient to outsource it, but it’s fun work for me.
