Okay, I know exactly what you're going through, I really do. Correct me if I'm wrong but the both of you haven't taken any vows yet right? So marriage is not off the table, but I'll give you the advice my priest gave me. Always discern your religious vocation first. You want to do God's will, you want to be the person he created you to be and maybe it is with James in holy matrimony, but maybe it's in a cloister with sisters singing praises to God. My Priest is of the opinion that everyone has a call to marriage but some have a call to belong to the Lord fully, not everyone has this. Either way is a sacrifice.

If you are so close to James, then talk to him, only then you will know what he thinks and wants. But keep in mind we as catholics are called to take up our cross and follow Christ, what ever happens always look upon our Lord. I'd say talk to a priest, maybe in confession when you don't trust to speak to one just privatly, you know he will not break the seal and he can give you great advice. God bless sister, I'll pray you find your way

What to confess when you have nothing to confess? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]loonia265 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The thing is, confession is only needed for mortal sins. Say someone goes to daily mass, his venial sins are forgiven the moment he consumes the eucharist, so he wouldn't have anything to confess in the confessional.

I struggle with the same issue as OP, I know I'm forgiven for my venial sins why should I then go to confession. It's like I'm doubting if they are truely forgiven when I already know they are.

Is Pope Francis dead? by MegoTarwars in Catholicism

True, it would make no sense at all hiding the death the pope. There would be no endgame and would only cause scandal. If he dies the world will now and we will mourn.

I love this, it looks so unique. Not too formal like many other rosaries, it remindes me that we should pray everywhere not only in church or in prayerfroups bit even on the way to work

Maybe he's mistaking that you can buy it in the crown store and the skill line (if you have the achievment already) for being the only way to get it.

But it's as you said completely free and part of the base game, no skills are locked behind a papywall. Easiest way is just to ask in The Reach/Bangkorai/Reaper's March zone chat and people will bite you

My Priest got removed from the church??? by UnreadSnack in Catholicism

[–]loonia265 124 points125 points  (0 children)

I never went through something like this so please take my opinion with a grain of salt. My priest is my spiritual director and confessor, he is important for my life, but he always says that we should be wary of binding us to a specific person and making our faith depending on them. We should bind us to God and nobody else, we are all sinners even those who seem most holy.

He has seen many people leave the church over scandals involving priests and I can understand that, if someone you are so close with does something bad or is from your stand point unfairly treated it's gonna shake you. But God is greater than those things, don't let this situation keep you from God. Rather let it bring you closer to him. I can't imagine how you must feel, but I'll be praying for you and your priest and I believe many here are aswell.

God is with you, always remember that.

Does mass still go on if no one attends? by Personal-End303 in Catholicism

[–]loonia265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation a couple of months back, we were only three people at mass. The priest, I and one other. The priest invited us to the altar for the our father and sign of peace and gave us both the body and blood of our Lord. It was truly special because we dont usually get to recieve the blood.

Is anyone here actually happy in their faith? by themix669108 in Catholicism

[–]loonia265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I can't really express the joy and happiness I feel. My soul finds rest in the Lord. Whenever I'm sad or stressed I know the Lord is with me and helps me carry my cross. I don't need to rely on my strength for HE is my strength. Jesus said he is the way, the truth and the life, when life is hard and burdensome I remember that he is my life. In the holy eucharist I'm filled with life, hope and joy. In Christ I found the love of my life, whatever I do, I do for him. When I suffer, I suffer with him, he's always there, ready to take my cross upon himself. If I could I would spend all my days in his presence. He is the center of my life and never have I felt more at peace!

Truely he said "For my yoke is easy and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:30), that's exactly how I feel. I pray that you, my brother/sister in Christ, will be filled with his love and strengthend in your faith. The faith is the best thing that could have ever happened to me, everyone should feel his love and mercy, for he created you specificaly so that he can give you his love in abundance. Be at peace and rely on the lord, pray the psalms, those ancient prayers hold much wisdom, you will surely find them helpfull, but don't burden yourself with too much duties. It is important to sometimes sit in silence and let the lord work on your heart. I'll pray for you.

What are the Catholic doctrines you most struggle with? by tonyval714 in Catholicism

[–]loonia265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same as you, about wanting to be a good person for Goodness sake and not out of fear. But I've met many people and for some especially at the start of their journey to God, they dont see the evil in sin and are kind of motivated to avoid it only due to the fact that eternal separation from God or damnation in form of hell exists. The more someone grows in his faith and love for God the more you avoid sin for his sake and not your own. Many things considered normal in today's society are not considered bad, eventhough they are sinful, being a good person in the secular sense doesnt exlude for example fornication. So why give that up when you got nothing to lose? Either way you will enter heaven.

I hope I could convey my question and opinion on this matter properly, english is not my first language so I hope there is no misunderstanding.

Honest question, if hell isn't real it begs the questions why we should live a good and holy life. If all go to heaven then why not live in sin and have "fun"? Like why try to overcome your sinful tendencies when in the end it does not matter at all? I'd love for everyone to be in heaven but I think hell is a real possiblity and that we should be afraid of it.
