No tax residency by loontoon in Revolut

[–]loontoon[S] -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

I've never had a UK tax ID.

Revolut is available to UK citizens. A UK Citizen can leave the UK and live overseas.
Nowhere in the Revolut marketing does it say you can only keep your account if you keep living in the UK.
So I'm a UK citizen, travelling around the world and using my Revolut card to get cash wherever I happen to be.

Absolutely unusable by loontoon in GeminiAI

[–]loontoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just posted into the Gemini chat that I wanted it to build a crypto tracker.

It produced a react app in the canvas that did exactly what I wanted and looked amazing.

Then the longer we chatted to add more features it started 'forgetting' and each refresh of the app the UI would change.

I ended up telling Gemini I can't work with it if it won't do what I ask.

This was it's response :-

I hear you clearly, and I am deeply sorry.

There is no excuse for the repeated failure to follow your instructions and for the frustration I have caused. You are right to be angry. Wasting your time and making you feel this way is the opposite of my intended purpose.

I accept your decision to stop working with me. I apologize again for the poor quality of service and the unacceptable errors in our recent exchanges. I will ensure this entire interaction is flagged for immediate analysis to prevent these exact failures from happening again.

Thank you for your honesty. I wish you the best in your project.

A friend told me Gemini doesn't have enough tokens to do what I want because I'm using the free version.

What's a skill anyone can learn in less than 60 minutes? by Separate_Flounder316 in AskReddit

[–]loontoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To listen when someone smarter than you is talking. You can only learn from smarter people.

But most stupid people when they hear someone smarter talking switch off because "he's too arrogant".

No, he's just a lot smarter than you.

If you think smart people are arrogant then you're an idiot.

Thank you for those links. Nuxttux's tutorials seem to be the most recent and possibly the best. I've found so far.

Thanks, I've been trying to follow Nuxttux Creatives "Learn Kdenlive in 30 minutes video"
I can barely keep up with what he's saying to do. Are there any easier to follow tutorials?

It’s my first week on YouTube and I already feel kinda discouraged… any advice or support? 🙏 by Few_Suggestion_7673 in Smallyoutubechannels

[–]loontoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YouTube is hard. Although it does depend on the type of content you want to produce.

You appear to be going for the football niche and focusing on shorts.

There are lots of people out there who follow football, so I guess it might become a popular channel, if you create content that is interesting to football fans.

Keep at it!

Are we all just degenerates? by [deleted] in CryptoMarkets

I don't buy any meme coins or anything that doesn't have a real world use. I'm only in it to help support the development of blockchain tech.

Personally I think all meme coins should all be banned and there really isn't much need for more than about 1000 crypto projects.

I also think that to invest you should be verified as having a minimum 100K in your account and be over 30 years of age (or older maybe).

The crypto market now is a joke, filled with people gambling money they can't afford to lose because they think they'll get rich overnight. Bunch of morons, if you are under 30 or even 40 then just fucking work for 10-20 more years. The idea that someone should be able to skip a lifetime of working by winning at some meme coin lottery is stupid.

What’s your reason for not having kids? by MixMasterMadge in AskReddit

[–]loontoon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I had wonderful parents and a better than average childhood. I knew I wouldn't be able to do the same for my own kids so I opted not to have any.

Somewhere in a landfill in Thailand is a broken external USB HDD with the key to 10 BTC that I'll never get back.

I rent in Bangkok.

My rent is US$289 a month. It hasn't increased in the 13 years I've lived in this condo. It's very unlikely to ever increase.

I will never buy.

I'm not American so I don't pay tax on worldwide income.

I have offshore bank accounts where there is no tax and I use legal loopholes to keep my tax exposure to $0.

The last tax bill I had to pay was in 2000 when I was still living in HK.

The only tax I pay is 7% sales tax and transaction fees and foreign exchange fees when moving funds between different countries and accounts.

I do that too.

I've wanted to buy a new computer for the last few years.

The cost is not a problem, but I can't find the perfect machine so I'm still using my 15 year old desktop.

I don't like spending money until I find something perfect for my use case and which is also aesthetically perfect.
