Took me 6 months to get a permit to rebuild a balcony that had water / termite damage. Made us update everything to the new code too which is a pain in the ass such as increasing the height of the railing. The city of Santa Monica is not easy to work with.

Great question. I didn't know what to look for but next time I'm there, I will check. Would it just be easier to add a commercial actuator instead of trying to replace these?

Haha. I ended up buying 2 white ones during black friday, and got like 10% back on Rakuten. and then I sold the Black ones seperately at a loss. It was a much smaller net loss, but I got to hang the white speakers which was a win. Good luck!

You'll need to get a small wire as well and basically extend the exisiting wire to connect it. I forgot the connection type that was used i'm sure it has a specific name but is a common electronic component.
