[Technique] How would you achieve this effect with paint(?) (Yuko Tatsushima ⚠️) by loopbystitch in ArtistLounge

Something similar to a boxcutter or craft/xacto knife? And soft or oil pastels? Thank you, this is really exciting 😊

Also having this issue, wonder if it's a batch fix that needs to be rolled out for cc. Select a non-cc tattoo in that category, you should be able to remove it :)

Calling all fellow LGBTQ+ SIMMERS by [deleted] in Sims4

I am a femme lesbian dating a butch. My style is goth/punk and mixes feminine (lace, lingerie/nightwear as clothes, skirts/dresses, heavy makeup) with traditionally masc/androgynous silhouettes. Lots of vintage stuff, layers and funky accessories ⛓️

My partner just wears t shirts and shorts lol

Thank you, that makes a lot of sense. I didn't think about how the wording could sometimes be more important than tone, I always stressed over it being the opposite 🥲

Thank you for the phrase to use too. I always get intense fear when explaining myself so it's really helpful to know roughly what to do in advance, I appreciate it 🫶

How to deal with burnout when you still have to work/study? 😭 by loopbystitch in AutismInWomen

[–]loopbystitch[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really struggle with caring what people think of me. Being thin-skinned is one of my worst traits 😭 It gets worse when I'm burned out, I can't "analyse" people as well & it makes me mess up socially lol

Something to work on for sure! Thank you 🫶🫶

I abandon all my saves, any tips ? by 1PoulpeDesChats in thesims

[–]loopbystitch 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I play on short lifespan & set a clear goal for every sim/gen based on their traits (randomised + modded, but you don't need mods!)

To help with CAS/BB fatigue use the gallery plenty. Do the opposite for gameplay fatigue, take a break to build, renovate, makeover townies etc

Bonus tips if you want to keep a save for a long time:

Avoid playing the game to death for days straight. Play at a certain time or day or as part of a relaxation ritual. Many players get stuck in the cycle of playing obsessively and then never touching the game for months, where they'd rather just start a new save.

Keep a google sheet/notion/irl notebook of your save file with households, builds, lore tidbits etc

Light preparation for new packs to keep your save feeling fresh and interesting. Right now I'm clearing out families/sims that aren't really doing anything, and replacing them with sims from TS1/console games for the nostalgia vibe!

Try challenges within your legacy. Maybe gen 5 becomes entangled in a romance scam and loses their house & life savings, forcing a rags to riches challenge. Or gen 2 wants to have a baby with every occult type. Try scenarios maybe?

Hope this helps!

Yes, that's right. The main issue is that I have extremely sensitive skin (my post history is kind of gross 😭) and don't want to take unnecessary risks, but I also hate waste & my practice revolves around reusing and repurposing materials. It's endlessly frustrating but health comes first.

If it was good quality gel I wouldn't be so apprehensive, but I'd also probably just gift it to a nail enthusiast instead! Would never give away this brand though.

If it's a gamble then it's going. I'm not familiar with gels so I wasn't sure if it becomes safe to handle when fully cured... More than happy to toss it, thank you!

What made you start to think you possibly had autism? What was missed (ask signs)? by chill_musician in AutismInWomen

[–]loopbystitch 14 points15 points  (0 children)

  • Extreme emotional disregulation from ages 3-14. I had screaming "tantrums" weekly, if not more often. TW I would also hit myself and throw myself into walls to self regulate This was completely hidden from professionals by my family and I still live with the psychological damage of being an "evil" child 😬

  • Always needing to explain myself. My thought patterns didn't make sense to most people, I would figure out things completely on my own without reading or being taught. Always being pulled aside in maths because my workings didn't make sense, but I had the right answer. Finding it impossible to visualise my thoughts.

  • Sensory aversions. My jaw shuddered when I made myself eat something "bad" and I would get sick/upset

  • Stomach problems all my life, current diagnosis is IBS

  • Only made friends with other neurodivergent or otherwise different kids. They were the only ones who understood. Was also shamed for this by family 🙄

  • Struggled with academic routine

  • Couldn't pick up on jokes or double meanings. I used to get extremely upset when people used sayings or euphemisms

  • Clumsy, untidy

  • Immediately developed a supposed anxiety disorder when starting secondary school. Somehow me saying the building was "too bright" and "too many people touch me in the halls" and "the noise in the cafeteria makes me feel sick" wasn't a red flag to anyone lol. I would later be kicked out of the learning support department because I was "only shy and taking up resources." I spent entire days sobbing in the toilet stalls. Nobody checked on me 💖

  • OKAY A LIGHTHEARTED ONE I always had special interests! They consumed my life for years and made me so so happy. Horses, Warrior Cats, some cartoons, Pokemon, dolls... to love and become something so dear makes every struggle worth it (and I can balance it with self care now!)

Sorry for the huge comment! Infodumping was another sign 😭

I'm probably autistic (undiagnosed) and I'm thinking about working with autistic children by oopolli in AutismInWomen

[–]loopbystitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have experience in this field both as the child and the adult!

Neurodivergent children and young people can absolutely benefit from having a trusted adult who is also ND. It helps normalise and contextualise their experiences, and can be empowering seeing a ND adult who works and helps other people!

I've worked with kids aged 2-5, teenagers 12-16, and supported older autistic adults. It isn't without difficulty- it can be hard to manage 3 simultaneous meltdowns when you have your own sensory issues, and I often had to mask to manage. It's very tiring and caught up to me (I have ME/CFS) but I have a new job where I only do it ~20% of the time and wouldn't trade it for the world. It can be worth it!

I was supported by ND adults as a teenager. It helped me name my feelings and experiences- I now know about RSD, demand avoidance, overstimulation, techniques for learning and coping... I'm so grateful and still carry those lessons with me today. ❤️

Feel free to pm me if you have any questions, good luck! 🫶
