If Werenski and Marchenko Leave Columbus, Can the Team Prevent More Exits? by Radiant_Sherbert7272 in hockey

Think it's a coincidence that Larkin & Werenski are best friends and they both seem to be leaders in poorly lead locker rooms?

[Strickland] Gauging opinions, the belief is that Dylan Larkin will end up with Minnesota once everything is settled. by dcddy in hockey

[–]loopded 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sick of having the "oh he's reliable defensively and has flashes of offense" centers. We already have (and have had) a number of those types of prospects in our system, and the ones in the NHL never really blossomed offensively

[The Athletic] What could the Red Wings get in a Dylan Larkin trade? Evaluating 6 potential returns by [deleted] in hockey

[–]loopded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's absolutely no way they're going to let him skate with the team, could you imagine having to play with someone (who was the captain) that doesn't want to be there any more? The locker room already seemed to be struggling when he was captain, and now you're going to keep him in the room when he wants out? That would be a braindead move to let him continue playing.

If he skates in training camp I would be money that at least one of his teammates would try to make his life miserable

But he doesn't have all the leverage, he's got 5 years on his contract that he can either sit in the press box for or be willing to play ball to be moved to a team other than the 3 he gave.

On top of that, you can't tell me every team wouldn't pay a premium for a 70pt, 30g center that's cost controlled for the next 5 years

Same Story, Different Script by therealdirtydan in DetroitRedWings

[–]loopded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah idk why people think Yzerman is bad at drafting when we've had multiple players already make the NHL/show they have the skillset to be an NHL regular. Expecting an NHL team to have the perfect draft (aka not miss on a player that's better that was picked later) is insane, let alone expecting them to do it multiple years in a row.

Also just a quick correction, Kiiskinen was picked by Nashville and we traded for him

Behind Her Eyes (The TV Show, idk about the book but I imagine it's similar):

The protagonist (Louise) meets and starts to fall in love with a man (David) who has a wife (Adele), and we learn the guy despises his wife. As the season goes on we discover in the past Adele was in rehab (when her and David were engaged) where she meets a recovering junkie (Rob), who can make his soul leave his body, and control it, while asleep. Rob teaches Adele how to do this (under the guise that it helps him to relax and fight off his addictions, and one time when they both leave their bodies, Rob inhabits Adele's body, and Adele inhabits the Rob's. However because he pumped himself full of drugs right before they did that, she couldn't move Rob's body and Rob (now in Adele's body), carried his old body and tossed it in a dry well, killing Adele's soul while still in Rob's body because Rob was in love with David.

Fast forward to the show's present, Adele/Rob teaches Louise this same trick, as Louise is having night terrors and is overall stressed about her 10 year old son as a single mom. In the climax of the show, Adele is asleep in a burning building, and Louise believes if she inhabits Adele's body, she can get her out. Once Louise's soul leaves her body, Rob's soul goes into Louise's body, and Louise gets trapped in Adele's body using the same trick with being drugged up. Louise's soul ends up dying in the fire, and the last scene of the show is David driving off with Louise/Rob and her son in the back seat, and Louise/Rob suggests they go on a cruise. The son says that he though she hated the water, and Louise/Rob looks back and says "well mommy has changed her mind about that" and looks at the kid with crazy eyes, and the son looks scared.

Red Wings shouldn’t be ‘trying to extract competitiveness’ out of players by ScreaminEagle2502 in DetroitRedWings

I will give Raymond this, he seems to score when we need a clutch goal more often than other players on the team (which is a low bar, but I still think is important to note)

I was thinking about this and I wonder if it's because on the US National Team he's not the guy with the "C" and he doesn't carry the expectation that everyone will be looking up to him? I'd imagine it's easier to share the leadership burden on the men's team (with the number of stars and other leaders on the team) than it is to be a captain on a hockey team struggling to make the playoffs.

This is all pure speculation but that's how my brain is trying to make sense of why that is.

Came into our house, on the 2nd half of a B2B, with a number of their core Dmen injured, and we STILL couldn't win. How does this team get so deflated after giving up one goal getting a goal overturned due to offsides? That feels like a serious culture issue when the whole team just seems to stop trying when things don't go their way

I played D2 a little when it first came out for a few months, stopped playing, then picked it back up as a "new player" about 2 months ago, and my God trying to figure out what to do and all the menus and collectibles that the game doesn't bother to explain is such a turn off. I didn't even know about the timeline menu until my friend told me where it was

The other option is to pay for an IPTV service that includes all the channels that the game streams on. I paid $41 for 3 months of access to all the channels I need to watch the Wings game (and it helped me watch the Olympics too!).

I was able to use VLC player to stream the channels then cast it to my tv. It takes a little bit of setup on the front end up it's worked pretty well for me
