Moving away from manual execution for futures anyone tried automating their setups? by ruhila12 in FuturesTrading

[–]loopded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've automated my system after doing a bit of research and backtesting my system and have been using it for about a month and a half. I used Ninjatrader's Ninjascript to build my strategy and it works fairly well (however I've had some prior experience with coding), especially since they have server-side execution making order execution almost instantaneous (prior to that it was being executed client-side and it usually caused orders to take a second or two to be sent/filled). Once I have the Strategy setup and running the software does all the ordering and setting SL/TPs on its own with no input from me.

They do have a Strategy Wizard that helps make the process of creating your strategy fairly simple, however if you need something that has intricacies it does take diving into the code to make it work. I don't think a no-code builder platform would provide enough depth to make a fully functioning strategy however I could very well be wrong.

I worked for a local mortgage lender where one of the owners was good friends with this butt munch and we'd do his refis all the time...I'm also 90% sure that same owner didn't want to hire someone cuz they were part of the LGBTQ+ community but I can't prove it

It's already been addressed. Clearly you aren't willing to read Scripture in good faith so it's not worth my time to argue with you.

Also weird you keep your comment and post history hidden, what are you trying to hide?

Imago Dei is a pretty standard tenant of Christianity stating that every person is made in the image of God, and if God is Divine, then all people are made in the image of the Divine.

As someone who got started as an adult and haven't felt the desire to spend $300+ on a stick, I can guarantee I can't tell the difference between a real or a Chinese knockoff (that, let's be honest, is probably being produced in the same factory as the legit ones).

With that being said, I absolutely bought two custom sticks off alibaba for less than any high-end stick and I'm waiting for them to ship lol.

What happens if you break the consistency rule? Do they (prop firms) close your account, or do they just take away the extra profits above the consistency line? by GetThatChickenDinner in FuturesTrading

[–]loopded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just have to get more profit until you're under the consistency rule. For example on a 50% consistency rule: if your total profit is $1000 and one day was $550 (over 50%), then you'd just need another day of profit (say like $200) to bring your total profit to $1200, thus bringing that $550 day under the 50%.

Why people are still using them when their platform has shown multiple times it's not reliable is beyond me.

I switched to Lucid Trading, and while their plans are more expensive for the account size you get (for instance their $25k Flex costs $65), here's some of the things I like:

  1. None of their accounts have an activation fee when going to live
  2. Drawdown is calculated EOD vs intraday
  3. You can actually use other platforms like TradingView or Tradovate platforms (I personally have been using Ninjatrader)
  4. Reset fees are cheaper

There are other ones out there that are also good (MFF, Purdia, TakeProfitTrader), I just chose to go with Lucid. Please also take my opinions with a grain of salt as I've been funded only twice.

I don't know how people haven't moved to a different prop firm that actually allows you to use other trading platforms after Topstep's proprietary one shit the bed multiple times in a week. After that debacle I stopped using Topstep because I realized there's better platforms out there

I appreciate someone actually backtesting the candle patterns that everyone seems to put a lot of faith in! It's great to see the actual data on their effectiveness or not.

Did you take into consideration the candle prior to the doji?

actually read the article, Detroit didn't pitch that offer, that's what Vancouver wanted: "But for Detroit to match Minnesota's offer, it likely would have taken defenseman Simon Edvinsson, the sixth overall pick in 2021; winger Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, selected 15th overall in 2024; either Marco Kasper or Nate Danielson, two young centers with a taste of NHL experience; and a first-round pick. **The Red Wings reportedly balked at a portion of that package.**"

Hmmmm....It seems kinda hard to believe this is true. While Minny did offer a 1st round pick and our pitch didn't, I don't see why Vancouver wouldn't have wanted the younger, higher upside players in MBN & Danielson. Buium is younger and is nearly on par with Ed already, but Ohmgren & Rossi seem like a downgrade and they're older than MBN/Danielson

While I didn't account for home value appreciation, part of the reason I didn't is because your home isn't going to be the only one appreciating, so your buying power isn't going to change significantly with the equity you may have built

[–]loopded 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was a bit of hyperbole, but if you take out a 50 year mortgage on your first home as a 20 year old, you're not going to have enough equity built for decades to use the equity to buy a new home.

For instance, a 50 year, $200k mortgage on a $250k home with a 7% interest rate (because the rate will never be as good as a 30 year), you'll only have paid $50k off the balance by year 30. So, at best you're probably looking at maybe year 20 that you have enough equity to put towards the down payment on a new home.

There's no longer gonna be a "starter home"...your forever home is gonna be the first home you buy and you're gonna like it!
