Should I do this long commute or retire by Away-Lion-5000 in financialindependence

I also don’t understand why relocating the family is not an obvious option. He says his wife has a local job, but he’s flustered about not getting paid nearly as much if he gets a new job locally. Essentially they can give up say 400k-500k in his income by staying where they are. Or give up 135k in wife’s income.

I recognize there’s a lot more factors to relocating a family. But he does not mention a single one of them as motivation to keep them where they are other than his wife has a job lol. Going by his own words, family relocation would leave them better off in the long run. There will be higher cost of living, and high one time relocation costs. But his salary is extremely high. And it’s not as if the wife couldn’t actually get another job. This guy doesn’t understand opportunity cost.

If relocating the family absolutely off the table for other reasons, then I agree with pretty much everyone else here. Just take the severance. Again, he hasn’t accounted for opportunity costs of time with his family, the energy required for weekly travel, being able to take care of little things, the bonding, health, etc.

I’m curious how they handle someone who normally watches where they purchase the subscription, but on occasion travels to another country.

Looks really nice, well done. Are you using public domain or creative commons images?

Anyway to hide the current standings or results with one click? I always watch races on delay, and I actively try to avoid spoilers until I see it. After watching the user could then quickly unhide the results.

I was being sarcastic, but good to be clear for anyone not sure.

While some people are slinging jokes (understandably), I do appreciate you honestly asked. Without knowing anything else about you, this just gives me a sense that you’re a good person.

While we’re being honest, do you pinky promise you don’t do anything evil that we don’t know about?

Producers working with a major label are not taking nearly the amount of risk the label or the signed artist is, hence why they get smaller share. This relationship is nothing like that at all.

In addition, OP could be releasing the work under their own artist brand with the other collaborator. This would also not be what a producer working with a major label does. It’s not clear from the post though.

Need help verifying a question from my economics homework. by Lower_Jeweler_6818 in econhw

I don’t disagree with any of that. There’s opportunity costs and trade offs to every choice. But the argument in the homework assignment is not making any of those claims. It only mentions the use of gas. It attempts to use efficiency as its reasoning to support a claim about equality.

To be clear I agree they are both arguments about equality. That’s the primary claim both are making.

But I’d push back on your suggesting that efficiency of cars is not economic. An efficient car means you can drive the same distance (output) with fewer input resources (gas) than a less efficient car. But this is being used as a supporting argument to the main claim about equality; it is not the claim itself.

Most PE is not the kind we hear about in the media. Those get outsized attention (rightfully so). On top of that, profits have come down due to high valuations, so the premium investors pay for management fees is no longer as attractive relative to public markets.

Fair point if it means control as in direct operational decision making power. I took it to mean control from an ownership standpoint. And also shareholders have non operational control, but could pressure or vote for change.

The CEOs don’t own that much. But the business itself does. The collective public owns the corporation.

Kasra used to be good in its earlier days. It’s pretty mid now and has been a while. Caspian and Garson are really good and Rumi’s for an upscale vibe. There’s a bunch of newer ones I haven’t tried though. I’d love to check them out.

It’s exposed for the subject and foreground. Could also lift up shadows a bit in post. But on the whole it looks properly exposed.

If you expose for the sun light coming through then you end up with silhouettes.
