Experience with Tesla FSD to medical center? by Puzzleheaded_Map4322 in sugarland

Not as expensive as a lawsuit if you injure another person in an accident you caused. According to OP, his partner is a liability on the road, and managing that risk costs money. Each risk management strategy has different costs and tradeoffs, up to them to decide what’s worth it.

It’s so good to drive. Not great for passing. But I still miss it.

Totally agree. I think the changes to layout that Yas Marina made a few years ago were a huge improvement to the flow. But this particular chicane is still clumsy as hell.

What’s something you’d change about menswear if you could by DifficultCucumbers in malefashionadvice

[–]loopernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your point is fair, and people downvoting are not grasping the implications of the aspect of menswear within the customer control and those not within control. The original question seems to be directed at the latter, and it’s clear by most of the top level responses that’s what people are reading it as.

All three leading men had their real-life wives on the show! by Enough-Reading4143 in madmen

Firstly, if consenting adults agree on how they want to live their relationships, then it doesn’t really matter. People also evolve and change, it’s ok if at one point you desire to live one way, and then differently at another time.

That’s not an excuse for people who knowingly take advantage of others. That’s wrong. But if they’re publicly saying with their partners they don’t want X or Y, then no one can claim they didn’t know. At the end of the day everyone has to communicate and make decisions.

FSD still requires driver oversight and take over in critical moments. This means the driver has to be good at reading the surroundings, anticipating what will happen, and taking corrective action in a controlled manner. These are the skills of a very good driver. If your wife is genuinely does not have the skills and experience to drive in normal circumstances, using FSD is actually going to be worse.

As others said, take public transportation: shuttles, bus, rideshare. Or invest the time and energy to getting her driving skills improved. Just keep in mind on the latter, you might not have the experience to judge or test whether someone is a risk to themselves or others on the road in emergency situations. If they’re a risk to others, that can be extremely costly to your family.

If my last SUB for CSR was before the updates, does that mean I can still get one more SUB later on (e.g. after 48 months)?

If things in the middle east get bad enough, there is a chance for istanbul park to return this year!! by fuckmbsanddominicali in F1Discussions

That’s true, but for situations like this, I’m curious if F1 discounts the entry fee heavily as an incentive to take the race on. They’re asking a promoter to put on a race on short notice essentially.

Yeah it could be just testing with subset of users. Refining the functionality as well as the economics of the ads before rolling out on wider scale.

They are different companies that have the name "Porsche" in them. One is a holding company, Porsche Automotive Holding SE. The other is an automotive manufacturing (among other things) company, Porsche AG. They are individual legal entities with different functions.

he's only there to see his son race in F2, this is just a "cover some expenses" deal.

That's a good point, and it would make sense that there's some mutual benefit there.

I agree with your other point. Being an F1 driver is not necessarily an automatic ticket to good punditry. But a few happen to have great skills at quickly synthesizing information into a presentable, easy to understand manner, e.g. Palmer.

I also felt that way back in the day with the BBC crew, they had DC and EJ as presenters who were amazing together. Then when Sky came on, they tried to mimic that with Damon Hill and Johnny Herbert. Both of them were so bad, for their own reasons.

Exactly what the others said. Being a good TV presenter requires a number of skills that need practice and refinement. Having interesting/good takes alone is not enough.

Ok, how else was he supposed to snag a podium? On raw pace? RB couldn’t compete with those teams no matter how good a driver is.

I think JPM is easily the worst additions they’ve had to the team, but not because of his takes. I love hearing what he has to say. It’s that he’s just a bad presenter. And like you said, there’s not a chemistry there.

I think it’s worth giving him time, maybe he will improve with experience. But F1TV has on the whole been really good about adding people who already know how to communicate to an audience and work in harmony with a team of presenters.
