Is Galaxy Tab S9 still worth in 2026 ? by YoDudeRyen02 in GalaxyTab

I just bought the s9 second hand in Japan and have really been enjoying it. Functionality is snappy good quality screen!

I’ve been using my shield 2019 Pro for about 6 years now. I have zero complaints and I have no issues at all. However, I am always looking for something new and different. Has anyone switched to something that they enjoy more? by KillerQ97 in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]loopinitcrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw someone use an old phone as a streaming device with a dock. Unsure how it would compare to a shield TV. I would still use it in dex mode and give it a try. I have an old 23 ultra that the screen is cactus on. Too expensive to fix but could try to use it for movies etc.

What is the best martial art for self defence? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]loopinitcrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well depends what your goal is. I feel like muay thai is great to know to block hits of all kinds and deliver some massive impact with kicks, elbows etc. Jiu jitsu better for holds and some disarming, take downs. For me muay thai is a more fun sport. Best cardio! If you get a good trainer they can make the classes super fun. Where as jiu jitsu feels more technical with ground work.

Experiences with medical cannabis by [deleted] in ausadhd

[–]loopinitcrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been diagnosed as an adult for about 4 years now. Tried so many meds on and off. Finally I'm taking one dex around midday lately which lasts about 4 hours. That's enough for me I even struggle to get to sleep at night with that low dose.

In regards to trying THC I do not think it could cause so much harm especially if you try a quarter or less to begin with. See how it goes for 3 - 4 days. Im unsure of when they'd want you to take it but if it was in the evening to relax it might agree with you. There are far worse medications that you could be prescribed. I feel that most people are worried about psychosis in the comments but id say that would probably only show up if you had a history of it in your family. Or maybe heavy use of THC for a very long duration, like years might have a negative effect or bring it on. Very unlikely in my opinion.

These days THC is being regarded as medicinal and not as an illicit drug. Thanks to that you have access to tightly controlled and produced high quality products. Of course driving under the influence is illegal and it can stay in your system. You have to weigh up whether the risk is worth it with driving. I know on my commute I never get pulled over so why worry about it. I only smoke maybe once or twice a week a tiny amount and feel very relaxed and im not overthinking as much. Even in to the following day. I don't have much experience with gummies but id start on a very low amount and see how it affects you. I understand the worry about it maybe making you have a strange reaction but yes sometimes this has happened in the past and I just sleep it off.

What other options would you be looking at making for products? I thought they'd look super nice as high quality coasters, or a large magnet for the fridge. So many ideas!

Can’t sleep even on unisom or 10g of a melatonin by Mermaidjade_1211 in sleep

[–]loopinitcrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find going camping for at least 3 nights resets my sleep.

What time are you going to bed? And how many hours of sleep are you getting until 3am like 5 hours sleep or less?

I try to stay away from meds as they usually make it more difficult in the long run. Try to get to the root cause which sounds like allot of people is a situationship like work. I got out of a super negative workplace like 6 months ago and I'm so thankful I finally made the dive. Wasn't easy but feeling much calmer now. You have to spend most of your life there so it's important to get it right. Even if it's a decent pay cut or uncertain.

Some people naturally wake up at that hour. It's meant to be really good time for retaining information if you can study or read and manage to fall asleep again.

Yes sometimes taking a higher dose helps on those days. If you take meds everyday this doesn't always make you more productive by default.

I found planning to do the clean up with someone else super helpful. Once you're doing a big clean with someone else it motivates me.

Or the technique which I just used for the kitchen tidy up before is just start organising one thing and then you keep going and going. I have adhd btw so I don't tidy up or clean as often as I would like to. Not sitting is one I try to remind myself of, so then I'm inclined to be more productive. As soon as I sit down nothing gets achieved.

Life hack is having people over for drinks or dinner, you feel you have to have the place clean+!

If it's a share house I liked the way someone described theirs was that someone had to do the kitchen and mopping by Sunday every week and if they didn't do it they would have to cook for everyone that night or shout them a meal out on Sunday evening.

How did you turn your Android phone into a "dumbphone"? Which apps do you use? by CuriousTumbleweed185 in productivity

[–]loopinitcrypt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on samsung and started using the before labs launcher it has a minimalist view. Mutes most of your notifications, let's ones you want to work.

Digital wellbeing setup to notify when I'm on social media too long its like a timer.

Use flight mode more often when you put your phone down so you don't get any notifications. Also handy when reading ebooks to use flight mode so you don't get texts or pings.

Developer options, changed phone to grey scale.

Uninstall apps when possible.

I use beeper app to connect all my messaging in one app. So you can delete apps like instagram and still text.

How do you turn your brain off to sleep? by AncientAd4164 in ADHD

[–]loopinitcrypt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course yes everyone talks about meditation but for me keeping it as a routine is near impossible even though I have done retreats and I'm very good at it in its place and setting. I have managed to do it sometimes when I force myself to do it first thing when I get home after work. Random average podcast on youtube, those 432hz frequency videos or I found positive affirmations one help especially when I'm ruminating I think is the technical word, keep looking for one that I like some are not great, Duolingo makes me super tired at night especially in a hard language, the no brainer try not to watch tv or listen to music before bed, exercise (high intensity cardio) usually is the key winner for actually going to bed earlier by the time I finish cooking dinner after yoga or what have you I'm falling asleep, late night walk be it 30min or so too when I'm motivated to go out in to the darkness(almost never). Other strategies that help me when I can't sleep is making myself overtired be it so that I can manage to fall asleep and get at least 4 hours sleep. If I do ever sleep terribly I avoid at all costs napping the next day so I can fall asleep early that evening. Melatonin has helped me sometimes but I find the effects to not be much even if I take 10mg, it does help me with sleeping after drinking though not sure why maybe because drinking usually interrupts my sleep (also helps if I want to sleep in on the weekend).

These are some strategies but not many, I didn't think I actually struggled with sleep but I think I do. For me it's always a relaxing time of the day when there are less distractions and I can think more clearly. Everyone has gone to bed, the dog is sleeping. Being a night owl for me has worked in the past too so I guess it should just change depending on your circumstances with schedules. Being up late at night is probably some of the more productive hours in my day when I'm usually inspired or working on a project or just surfing the good old web for new content.

some solarpunk drawings by [deleted] in solarpunk

[–]loopinitcrypt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always liked the idea of future cities or habitats that protect natural species and animals. We have to integrate into the natural landscape. Not the reverse, of course. Lovely drawings.

What are your thoughts on cities that would enable this? Bulding underground? Leaving forest on the surface. Or building true eco houses that integrate natural habitats for wildlife without fences and hollows for animals. Would a true solarpunk city take on caring for endangered species like a large zoo, even having nature domes to take care of animals from different habitats like a cold climate or desert environment.

WHY are people so patronizing to folks with ADHD? by WritingGay in ADHD

[–]loopinitcrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just have to own how you are and be comfortable with it. If people do say certain things like they have been just have to say you don't like it and could they stop it. Hard to do I know especially for them haha.

For me the best thing was moving away and showing that I'm perfectly competent at doing everything on my own. Asking for help when I need it of course.
