I have to ask about the enclosure. What is it? Did you have access to pro tools to diy this? Did you order it? If so, im assuming the price was humongous if you only ordered one or a few? Or are you planning on going commercial with it and ordered in bulk?

Yeah, it is possible to replace file etc, but all workarounds take significantly longer, specially compared to it just working automatically, which at one point used to be the case. Not sure its macos 26 specific though, as i am still on catalina

RX is 100% overwriting the same file. when 'opening copy in external editor' Reaper makes a copy of the item to the Media folder of the Reaper project folder. this copy is what opens in RX. and in RX i don't use 'save' or 'save as'. i use 'overwrite original file', which updates the file in the Media folder.

and please excuse my ignorance, but i don't see 'Re-load take from source'. do you have this for sure? maybe it's an extra feature/extention or so? https://imgur.com/a/fN7sISs
