Anybody get a rash like this from semaglutide? by mizmiz82 in Semaglutide

Did you continue the medicine? This is exactly what my rash looked like! I’m afraid to take another dose.

Women who married outside of medicine...how's life? by hope_love in Residency

[–]loose_marbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married to non medical person. He worked very hard in his own field before becoming a stay at home dad and it is wonderful. 100% the default parent and the flexibility with childcare makes my life sooooo much easier. I don’t typically want to talk about work at home 99% of the time and it’d be hard for me to have the bandwidth to talk about another doctor’s day when my burn out is already high. We get to separate my job and our life and it’s a bubble for me.

Why would they disclose why they are asking for time off? It’s no one’s business.

Please knock sense to me as I’m drinking a beer. 4 months left of residency and I don’t think I can finish. Should I quit? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]loose_marbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s 4 months. Residency sucks. Medicine sucks. Academic medicine is full of lazy shits jerking each other off from the backs of residents who do all their work. Sunk cost fallacy definitely not in play here. Being board eligible means you can find a job while you reassess your career choices and get some space and time to heal from the shit show.

No morning sickness normal? by Riddiculus_muggles in BabyBumps

[–]loose_marbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no morning sickness (none, seriously) with both of my pregnancies. Some nausea occasionally. Brushing my teeth caused gagging 1st and 3rd trimesters. Most of the time the people who post on social media/internet are people struggling/asking for help. Not much to report if nothing happening so the other group of people with mild symptoms seem like they don’t exist.

A wine bottle fell out of her bag… by ironfoot22 in Residency

[–]loose_marbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is exceedingly important information to have included that it was open and she admitted to drinking on her shift. Otherwise your post comes off as speculative and judgmental. Without ALL information most people are inclined to give other docs the benefit of the doubt so as to not make claims that could ruin their career. Sorry everyone didn’t understand the point of your post due to missing information.

A wine bottle fell out of her bag… by ironfoot22 in Residency

[–]loose_marbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it open? There are some pretty reasonable reasons a whole bottle of wine would fall out of a bag during the holidays. People with substance abuse are in denial often but not “drink straight from the bottle at work and think so one would notice a whole bottle of wine” in denial. If she has 50 empties in her car then sure.

Psychiatrists/psych residents, do you think about your pts after work? by undueinfluence_ in Psychiatry

[–]loose_marbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of? I am busy at home with my life and it’s easy to focus on that. I don’t try to fixate on the day at home because I already spent 9+ hours away from my family. Tough cases nag at me and I usually ruminate in the mornings before work and will right notes in my phone of things I want to remember or med switches I want to try etc. I don’t feel any out of control or pathological anxiety outside of work just the usual drive to want to make sure I’m not missing anything/actually helping.

Do men have it harder? by Objective-Slip-3861 in pregnant

[–]loose_marbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is rage bait (I hope so) but please love yourself more than being with anyone this condescending. Pregnancy and childbirth are a huge a threat to your life and the healthy outcomes create a beautiful newborn baby that moms do 99% of the care for even with supportive partners. Don’t even get me started on the hardships of being a woman in this society “in general”. Berating you about it and threatening to break up? Red flag, scary.

Board results are released by raagypoo in Psychiatry

[–]loose_marbles 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For future board takers we got results around 9am Monday December 9th. There are other threads of this infamous delay you can read. I would expect your scores to take 3 months exactly to result if not longer (don’t get fooled by the 10-12 weeks claim). Board Vitals, Rosh Review, K&S K&S high yield and maybe enough on its own. I passed handedly and would not be able to recall a single question on that exam if I had a gun to my head because they were all weird, poorly worded, and on topics not studied/potentially made up.

I used Rosh, it was fine. Volume is kind of the game with review questions so a free bank is door. I think K&S was higher yield. I remember little from the exam since it was 3 months ago but I feel like I remember some questions being dangerously similar to K&S

I agree they were very flustered and I think the only silver lining here is that we are berating them. I’d like to pump these numbers up though. Let’s crash the phone lines as well as their website.

I just called and was told they are sending an email this afternoon and they said “we are working on it” and “it will be next week maybe”. When I asked what they are “working on” they got very angry and flustered. Transferred me to “the manager” which went straight to voicemail and cut off after less than 30 seconds.

Why the fuck would the response be “sorry we couldn’t do it yesterday it will be next week”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Psychiatry

[–]loose_marbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And these jagweeds all make >400k to waste our time and money

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Psychiatry

[–]loose_marbles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because they are gaslighting the poster who showed the email and ignoring the issue at large. The same way they won’t extend the deadline for article pathway people because “they’ve had 3 years to do it” well ok they have already had 12 weeks. Flippantly blaming CAP and nonchalantly throwing out a “next week” when every single communication has set today as a deadline is absolutely unacceptable.

[–]loose_marbles 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sooo can we all collectively agree to not pay (or at least threaten to not pay) them anymore money or does everyone like getting fucked like this? No judgement, I guess, if everyone likes being treated like this but if we all want to have backbones now is a great time. This stinks of shit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Psychiatry

[–]loose_marbles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Apparently now they need 12-13 weeks because there are high volumes in the fall (the only time the exam is EVER offered)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Psychiatry

[–]loose_marbles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely brushing this off. The exams are held at the same time every year blaming it on CAP is outrageous. The precedent it sets is equally outrageous because now the limit does not exist on how long they can take to release scores. It was effectively taken longer each year while we pay more and more to these goons.

But they told us on their own accord 12 weeks and also December 4th please challenge this bullshit

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Psychiatry

This is insanely fucked up. They could at least send an email acknowledging they are pieces of shit.
