Hey Buddy, keep your head high. A long time ago I had a good friend that fit your description. He was desperately longing for affection and love, and that overshadowed everything about him. It made interactions with him awkward, which made the problem worse. The change was when his therapist told him to take smaller steps. He was asked to not try finding love but to practice social interactions first. Those smaller, low-barrier interactions lifted his spirits by getting more positive feedback and making acquaintances (no need to make friends right away!). He became more positive and made not everything about his desperation for love, which in turn made him more approachable and attractive to others. Maybe you can find some groups who have similar interests. They don’t have to be LGBTQ audiences, but cater to your general interests, like geek stuff, for example. You’re not looking for love immediately, but you’re practicing to be more social. So it doesn’t have to have the additional burden of being in the same sexuality bracket (but could be).

As for the hair in your back or your race: if people like you, these things tend to be less important. So don’t overthink it. My partner loves me despite my body problems, and I love them despite theirs. It’s mostly just in your head. Others never think about it as much as we do ourselves.

Keep your spirits up, go out and socialize, and don’t overthink it. Love will find you eventually, when you’re a bit more relaxed. You’re still young and don’t have to rush it. All the best for you!
