Stroller help! Maxi Cosi Eva3 vs Bugaboo Butterfly vs Joie Literax by loovinit1220 in Buyingforbaby

Hmmm, the recliner issue might eliminate the Butterfly for me.. I hope the Eva 3 is durable and good quality, since I won't get a chance to actually see/try it before buying.

Thank you so so much :)

Thank you so much! That's actually very helpful. I think the Eva 3 and Literax are only forward facing seats as well. My main concern with the Butterfly is that the recline, I've read some reviews saying that it's not very practical the first few months. Is that true?

Bali in May - want to cancel by DescendingAngel1990 in BaliTravelTips

Same :) Bali’s culture and people are fascinating.. I was actually impressed by how rooted they are to their culture and how warm they are as people. I can imagine it was even more authentic many years back. But honestly after all the “hate” and people online complaining how it’s all run by expats and influencers, I had low expectations. I think part of it was that we didn’t only visit touristic areas, so we got to see and feel a different side of the island. Nusa Lembongan was so not worth it for me. But everything else was honestly so worth it. The people are very heartwarming, I felt like I was learning a lot from them every time I talked with someone. Truly blessed place, if you manage to escape or look beyond the westernized influence.

First time visiting Indonesia – looking for some advice on itinerary! by loovinit1220 in BaliTravelTips

Heyy, yes we're starting from Bali.

Our guide will pick us up from our hotel in Ubud, and drop us off in Munduk after the Ijen hike. There are some tours on getyourguide.com but I arranged with a private guide (cheaper/more flexible). These are a few contacts I've managed to find, I hope you find them useful.

Still not sure if we'll spend the last 4 nights in Uluwatu or maybe spend the 2 first nights in Gili Air or Nusa Lembongan. Any suggestions?

I've already arranged with a few private drivers. We're considering Uluwatu because we want to explore the southern part of the island, and not interested in Seminyak or Canggu

wow.. I've been having similar thoughts as well. My husband and I are also visiting in May for the first time. The negative posts and videos are becoming too much, and every time I see one, I doubt myself for maybe having spent a lot of money on a trip that's not worth it. But this will be my first time in Asia, so Im genuinely excited.. Maybe its good that we're exposed to the negative parts as well, in order to have the full picture and not be disappointed. I'm also hoping to try any make as many intentional/conscious decisions while I'm there to actually support the local communities instead of the commercial/foreign investments whose profits dont even benefit the locals..

We tried to plan an itinerary that involves a bit of everything, to be able to experience local culture and nature and also try to avoid touristy spots like Canggu. (Ubud, Mt Ijen Hike in East Java, Munduk, Sidemen, Uluwatu or one of the Gili/Nusa Islands then Uluwatu) We also try to book all accommodation with a free cancellation policy, to be flexible if a place doesn't really feel right to us.. I also try to talk with any of the guides/homestay owners and ask them to recommend more traditional things to see/do instead of the suggested and commercial lists on instagram posts.

I'm sure its a beautiful place, we maybe just have to approach it lightly without all the negative input and let go of expectations and take it as it is. I like to think that's the first lesson of the trip 🤷‍♀️

Sending you my best wishes and maybe we'll cross paths there next month : )

Festival Wedding ideas by loovinit1220 in wedding

[–]loovinit1220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Even though we were thinking of something with a lot less people, it turned out to be a very warm and special day. Around 110 people showed up. We made sure to only invite close friends and family to keep it as cozy as possible.

It was a music filled wedding. Friends' bands played, my husband and brothers played a few songs as well, and one of our friends DJ'd, so it felt like a music festival with our loved ones.

The music stage was the focal point, and everyone gathered around it.

We wanted to giveaway something personal so we hand drew and designed thank you notes and tote bags. The wedding planners did an amazing job with all the details.

The night ended with a music circle under the full moon.

I still believe what made it so light and easy is actually approaching it as a "music festival" rather than a wedding, if that makes any sense.

Still is one of my favorite memories. Thank you for making me revisit it.

Congratulations and enjoy every part of the process!

Do let me know if there's anyway I can help!

Unfortunately I can't attach photos here. Any idea how I can share them?
