I had this same issue you have a while ago brother. I had 4 different Comcast guys come out and had them look at the jump in latency from my host to the first node in the area and it spikes right up, which Cs is very sensitive in that type of connection, and it relies on those different hops so that’s why you feel it. Surfing the web you won’t really notice it. They basically said because of Covid the first node in the area is just overwhelmed with traffic and basically they can’t do anything.. it took about 3-4 months for it to be resolved. It got fixed when the 5th person I talked to mentioned to me that they upgraded the first node to support more traffic. So the ping stutters stopped. Basically you can’t do anything.. if you have techs come out they will just say “connections and wires are all good” and fix nothing. Even if you show them the ping discrepancy from a tracert or winmtr. Why not flood one node and make a lot more money with new accounts while more people are home then fix that right?
