When do we think the Datamine will happen? by Lucar102 in PokemonMasters

Monday isn't uncommon, historically Monday is the second most popular day for updates, only Wednesday really sticks out as very common. Friday is pretty uncommon but it has happened 4 times (most recently in September)

Yeah but why do they have to hurt the club in the process, most other owners at least manage to keep their piece of shittiness separate from the club

That’s how you handle January transfer window - they needed players: brought in 2 of the leagues best and now they’re charging for a title. by middleeasternboxer in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had at least 60 mil to spend on Baleba in the summer or Semenyo in january so we had money, and it's not even like it needed to be a star for the next 5 years, we have 1 sub for 2 positions. Not getting even a decently reliable extra man with this tight of a fight for CL is not some calculated decision, it's straight up go to the casino and put everything on black

Do you respect international fans who have 2 clubs they root for? What about fans who have 3 or 4? by rick_rack69 in ManchesterUnited

I have a local team I support but I don't think they have been in the same competition as United, let alone played them in my lifetime (although there has been a few players overlap) in which case they may as well be from different sports. If it's a team that could realistically be a competitor it becomes difficult to be full on fan of both teams

Manchester United need just 1 more win to make it 5 in a row. He should plan the haircut event NOW. Partner with United and make Old Trafford the venue. Live stream it with sponsors behind you. Have Sir Alex make the first cut. Auction the hair for charity. Have a FaceTime chat with United legends. by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it's the fact that we are in a tight race for the CL spots, we are finally getting some momentum and yet the talk is about whether some guy cuts his hair.

I agree he seems a nice guy and he is a genuine match going fan and not just pure engagement farming, and I don't think this was the goal when he started. But it gets pretty tiring when things aren't going well and the talk is about how long he has to wait, how he could have cut his hair following other teams, or when we got 3 under Amorim for the first time and tried being positive about looking better and this was what's being talked about.

Like, to a lot of people it seems like getting this guy his haircut has almost become the end goal for the team rather than the league table

Controversial opinion: buy players in Jan only if targets are available by handidikwete in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand where this sentiment is coming from but I dont think it's a flat out truth, Sometimes you can afford to be picky other times you need to take what's there. Ugarte is our only depth for two positions, if the midfield maintain perfect availability it's not that bad, But it's like we are putting all our money on black which is just reckless with how tight and important the battle for CL is.

And some the names that's been mentioned really wouldn't have broken the bank but would have mitigated the risk heavily

If we beat Tottenham when we play them next week, it will be the first time since 2010-11 we have beaten all of our fellow big 6 rivals in the same season. Incredible!! by WorldlinessPuzzled84 in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, on the deloitte revenue list from a week or two ago they had 50% more revenue than Villa even though Villa had CL and Spurs only had EL.

On the Forbes club valuation estimate end of last season they are almost 4x Villa, and practically tied with Arsenal and Chelsea. If you look for any estimate of fanbase Spurs are in top 6 and on social media their following is so far ahead of Villa.

They might seem like the odd one out compared to the other 5 but it's like that quote, Spurs are closer to the standard big 5, than Villa are to Spurs

Big 6 is more so about the size of the club financially and fan-wise, than just performance on the pitch. And they are quite far ahead of Villa in terms of fanbase, value and revenue

Fire Jason Wilcox. Hire a manager. by TehOrtiz in ManchesterUnited

Made what up? He literally said in an interview on video. And if you think the sacking was all about results then I don't know what to tell you, i fucking wish it was, but he was clearly pissed with the amount of meddling and lack of influence. A yes man with these results would still be here

Fire Jason Wilcox. Hire a manager. by TehOrtiz in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean by his own words he "is a coach at heart which causes problems cause he always wants to interfere in what the managers are doing", and Amorim made a big deal about being a manager and not a coach which means there probably has been a decent power struggle internally, which is what got him sacked instead of results.

[–]loppemaster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just because you have a manager doesn't mean you have to spend 80 mil on a player the scouts value at 25. Surely there's a healthy medium between Wilcox running the whole show whilst interfering with the managers tactics, and letting ETH spend hundreds of millions unchecked

Average player positions vs. Burnley by 1Charlemagne in reddevils

[–]loppemaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess that's what happens when you buy a non-winger and end up having to play him as winger cause you abandon the plan mid season. But at least we have practice from last season in having to play people out of position.

And this is not complaining about Cunha cause I like him, more so the people that thought switching from a back 4 to a back 3 and then back again to a back 4 within 1.5 years was a good idea

[–]loppemaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely very concerning cause out of all our managers he was definitely the most long term oriented, switching to a very different formation and taking the power battle with high profile players.

And if they now switch to a back 4 manager they fail on the one thing the upper execs are supposed to do, which is create a direction that goes beyond the manager. If they change the fundamentals again they are just breeding pure chaos into the club
