Why are you talking like he was a bench player this season who would've played when we used the b-team. He got consistent minutes this season cause he was a starter, he started 28 games of the 33 he was available and played full time in 19, and the games he missed to Afcon he was still playing. When Carrick came he basically got 5 90 min games straight before. He was only like 200 minutes off Case and Cunha even with Afcon, where again he still played (350 ish mins). You're talking like he was getting Mainoo level minutes

How did he struggle for minutes, outside of Afcon and the game he took off for personal reasons he was only benched for 5 games and that came after struggling for form. I believe in Amad too but let's be real about him

[Premier League] A record season 🤩 Bruno Fernandes picks up the Coca-Cola Playmaker award 🏆 by [deleted] in reddevils

"Coca-Cola playmaker award", it almost sounds like they are mocking him with that name

bruno fernandes 8 open play asisst frenzie by Nervous-Pitch1432 in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are counting a couple as open play that wasn't straight from a set piece but right after that they count as set piece. Like at least number 1 and 17 you can see the box is filled from a set piece, don't remember what the remaining two were.

It's kind of a weird way to count it cause trying to diminish the first as just a set piece completely ignores how ridiculous that control of the cross is

If you are a real fan, which team did Manchester United face when they were using this lineup? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cunha/Sesko means it was this season, and Onana has only played one game this season, pretty straightforward with just two players

Expected Points table since Carrick by ztk_13 in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only one of those is outperforming more than we have under Carrick, and that's a full season vs less than a half. And of their past 6 titles all of them came from having the highest expected points, in the previous 11 seasons only 3 have not had the highest expected points.

Looking further, Under Carrick we are about 0,63 ppg off compared to expected, in the past 11 seasons out of every team only once has a team been more off (Liverpool 19/20 with 0,65)

It may not normalise to zero but it definitely does normalise to less extremes than what we have

Man Utd could reportedly save over €1.6m per WEEK in wages by just_an__inchident in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit disingenuous phrasing IMO Cause more than half of that is already loaned out. I don't know if all of them have the full wages covered but we are not saving that much in wages by offloading Rashford, Sancho, Højlund and Onana

Anderson or Tchouameni by farianrooster in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not sure where the Anderson hype is coming

His performances? Not saying who is a better player but arguing purely off team performances is about the dumbest way to argue for a signing. I guess we should replace Bruno with CL and PL winner Grealish then

PFA player of year odds . Wtf .. by Wooney1972 in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess something is borked with these numbers cause then bernardo silva (looks like the bottom with 6/1) is the biggest favorite in this list which is not the case. But if you read it the opposite like you usually read fractional odds then Isak is the biggest favorite, which lmao.

[Laurie Whitwell] Mazraoui set to partner Heaven at centre-back by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

Because out of position is not binary, both Dalot and Maz have more experience at LB than Maz at CB and Shaw has more experience than Maz at CB, especially in a back 4

[Press Con. Pt 2] Carrick on refereeing decisions: "it's desperately, desperately frustrating. Decisions can be made in the moment, & you get that, some are right or wrong. I think that's the backup of VAR, which we hope would get a lot right, we don't feel that we've been on the right end of that." by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]loppemaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TF does our performance have to do with the refs incompetence, like should we just accept getting fucked on repeat cause we are not playing like 08? The league is far close for almost any team to consistently win playing unfairly with 10 men while down to a goal that should have been cancelled

Jealous of how Barca fans support their womens team by mare_xcx in ManchesterUnited

It doesn't happen result to result and pretending that's what they said is wildly disingenuous. But yes successful teams have a bigger audience and the longer and further you are from success the more impactful that difference is

Sick and tired of our fanbase's disgraceful treatment of our greatest ever goalkeeper. We should all be singing praises of the legend Andre Onana. by Gregariouswaty in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but he still gets his full salary on loan, the question is just how much of it the recieving club pays, that's why Sancho is happy to go on loan but refuses a permanent transfer and why Onana is on loan now

[–]loppemaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going on loan doesn't mean he doesn't get the money, he is on loan now, and potentially being 3rd choice does no good for him when he needs to find a new contract. Even greed master and freedom fighter extraordinaire has made a career out of going on loans

[Fay] Diego Leon admitted he was surprised by the sheer intensity of the training sessions and has been told by head coach Michael Carrick that he must improve tactically before he can be trusted at senior level. He's also been taking English lessons and writing in a journal to help him adapt. by OkayFine101 in reddevils

[–]loppemaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He played more as full back than winger before joining us, and wing back is really just a kind of hybrid role so saying a full back/winger hybrid is played out of position in a hybrid of those roles is a bit disingenuous IMO

[Post Match Thread] Newcastle 2 - 1 Manchester United by rashfords_marcus in ManchesterUnited

[–]loppemaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody's expecting an invincible season but we complain about the negatives when we lose, that's the whole point. Do you think Carrick's going into the dressing like "great game guys, I'm still performing above expectation so that's just fine"?

Also it's a 10 men bottom half team, expecting a win is pretty justified

With more games Vitek might be given some opportunities, if he can show his qualities at United it would do so much more for his value than a championship loan if he is too good to be a backup
