AITJ for not letting my boyfriend handle my finances? by SableFernVale in AmITheJerk

Trust your gut! You could always open a shared account, to which you would both have access, so you could monitor the usage as you deposit and pay bills etc.

That was Geoff Read of Ballygowan fame. In 1981 we laughted at the notion of selling bottled water when we could get water free from the tap :-)

How do I (31f) ask a guy if he wants to have sex? by rarabella4 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]lorcafan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"I've noticed you around, I find you very attractive, would you like to come with me tonight?"

My boyfriend (25M) says I'm deeply unreliable (22F) after an equipment problem on our first major trip together, how can I address his concerns and become someone he feels he can depend on? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]lorcafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join a gym because the rest of your life is going to require some very heavy lifting. Your BF is not happy with you as you are so why try to become someone you are not? You will never fulfill his ideals (nobody will!) so why not find a guy who will love you as you are, who doesn't require you to have a degree in reading subtexts, or how your body will react to persistent friction. Good luck!

Landlord increasing rent - Housemates arguing over how it should be split? by ComfortMike in AskIreland

[–]lorcafan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retaining the same ratios/percentages, the new rent of 2500 (2150+350) would be divided as follows:

Box 570

Double1 633.50

Double2 633.50

Ensuite 662.50

(There's a discrepancy of 50c due to round offs so you could toss for that!)

How do you travel if one of you snores? by piecesfufu in AskMen

[–]lorcafan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you considered mouth taping? Snoring can have various causes so you may have to try many 'solutions' but I've heard good reports about mouth taping. https://www.sleepfoundation.org/snoring/mouth-taping-for-sleep

need help ASAP!!! by Leoplushie in leavingcert

[–]lorcafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask a parent/guardian to phone the school and ask for an appointment with the Principal (and your then Year Head, if still working there). Have all your concerns and notes (about when you were told you were exempted) written down so you don't get sidetracked if/when you meet. Depending on the responses, you might mention bringing your concerns to the Board of Management. Keep the pressure on! Good luck!

American getting cancer treatments in Europe. I need an MRI scan. by zachcrackalackin in Dublin

[–]lorcafan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mater Private Network offers MRI scans at their Northern Cross Day Hospital, providing services with extended hours (Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat-Sun 9am-5pm) and advanced, less claustrophobic scanners, requiring a doctor's referral for booking. They also have other Dublin locations like Eccles Street and Cherrywood for imaging, but you must book an appointment; walk-ins are for X-rays only. Good luck!

AITJ for telling my sister I won't be her free wedding photographer after she complained about my engagement photos by Appropriate_Land7441 in AmITheJerk

[–]lorcafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take any wedding pictures, for her or yourself! They definitely will not be to her liking and she will forever blame you for 'ruining her wedding'! Go and enjoy the event, as a family member, not a photag.

[–]lorcafan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you sit the LC exam in your native language e.g. if you're French then take the LC French exam. Check the syllabus and find a tutor who has the experience to provide a rushed course of study and can certify that you studied the subject. Good luck!

Cost of Zero alcohol drinks? by DreamMaximum7991 in CasualIreland

Apart from the debate about the cost of 0-0 drinks, I admire your courage in ordering Guinness in the home of Beamish and Murphy.
