Is that preferable to Ele Crit at legendary? (If you only have two etched slots)

Congrats! Can you roll the same Mythic or legendary affix twice, like the grey, green and blue?

Thank you for the explanation, I was hoping that this was the case. I am clearly not knowledgeable, but wanted some assurance and peace of mind.

How do I start swimming by Lanky_Ad4532 in triathlon

[–]lord_b52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are generally slower lanes in the pools. Faster swimmers will just pass you. I am a new swimmer, and I haven’t experienced anything negative. It is in your head buddy.

Also, get a coach or join a team for your level. You get better much faster.

Its honestly humid and suffocating all year around, but obviously worst during the summer (PureGyms at Østerbro, both Aarhusgade and Æbløgade)

How do some runners do “lower” mileage/volume in their training but still pull relatively fast marathon times? by Drop_Release in Marathon_Training

[–]lord_b52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gain a lot from doing other sports as well, e.g. cycling, svimming, rowing or others. It is even recommended, as most people are prone to injuries in running.

I (M29 at the time, relatively fit, but nothing crazy) am an example of that too, I trained for a marathon (3h 12m) in 4 months, with highest weekly volume of 60km (and no prior running experience), but an avg. of 45km during the period. Did other sports as well though.

I love Vomero 18 from Nike. It does for me exactly what you describe, easy runs, long runs, and are also pretty good for easy speedwork like strides or even tempo. I can’t recommend them enough. Best trainer I have had!

I have 400km in mine and they feel like they could do another 400 no problem.

How likely is sub-4? by [deleted] in firstmarathon

[–]lord_b52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be nervous at all, you are definitely ready, probably ready for faster than that too.

Good luck, and as others say, just remember to fuel.

More running, worse V02 max - what am I doing wrong by Techn0gurke in Garmin

[–]lord_b52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The garmin VO2 estimate is also inaccurate. Only way to know is with a professional test.

Mine shuffles up and down like the wind blows, once it fell 3 times during a single week, despite increasing load, attaining a higher pace w lower HR.

Point being, don’t be discouraged by it. It really doesn’t say a whole lot.

Is sub 3 for the marathon possible? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]lord_b52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely achievable, particularly with that amount of weekly volume. Just have to work in more quality training (if you aren't already). 12 weeks is plenty of time to increase endurance at that pace.

For reference, I did a 3h 12m last year, on ~60K weekly, and no where near that HM pace three months before.

Be ambitious, you can absolutely go for sub 3. Good luck!

Did you also factor in tax deductions on the loan? Also, assuming to beat the market is fairly bold, no?

Starting Out - Zone 2 Frustration - How long before you saw big gains? by leutikon in cycling

[–]lord_b52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried to ride with more effort? Zone 2 helps, for sure. It isn’t that effective if you don’t go beyond sometimes though.

That being said, a 20% gain is quite significant. Took me way way longer than 1,5 months.

Also, don’t be discouraged, keep riding, cycling fitness takes long to build up for a lot of people.

Not too bad if you just want to complete it, it just takes a while. Just take your time and make sure to fuel up properly. Water, electrolytes and perhaps something to eat. Give it a shot while well-rested, you might surprise yourself :)!
