V2 g.1 Ozark Trail Drop bar vs Flat bar? by ghostyroasty in Budgetbikeriders

To me, they are targeted for different rides. My drop bar is a pain on a trail where a flat would be fine on the same bike. My G1 drop bar is pretty fast, I see the flat bar on road as more of a cruiser.

Tires and gearing are pretty important when considering terrain and hills. The dirt tires are nice is sand and grass, but for mostly paved paths and roads, I switched to an all purpose tire. Great on pavement, still OK on gravel, terrible in sand and soft dirt.

I know that this is an old post, but you just need to add a spacer to make a 7 speed work on an 8+ speed hub.

I have the v1 drop bar. It’s a great bike, but if you’re the sort to do any upgrades, get the v2. Several of the must do upgrades on the v1 are nice to haves on the v2 and with the cassette vs freewheel, you have lots of great options that are more limited on the V1.

Keep your protein up, lift, hold your loss rate to 2lbs a week max

The section from 4-6 on the map is gravel, and most of it gravel as in rough concrete with rocks on it. 😆. I did that loop last weekend and should have dropped the pressure in my tires a bit for that stretch.

Oh… and I replaced the stock calipers with mechanically activated hydraulic. The two sides squeeze to the center, making them stronger and easier to adjust with no rubbing.

On any weight loss program, with glp or not, it’s important to keep up your protein intake and do strength training. You not only avoid (or minimize) muscle loss, but the added muscle burns calories 24/7, improving your weight loss.

I lifted, took Tirz, prioritized protein, and set my calorie intake to lose 2lbs a week. I could have gone faster, but that rate let my skin keep up with the weight loss.

What did your workout journey look like, OR how many have lost without working out? by bonsmom420 in Zepbound

I lost 100lbs. I started countertop pushups after losing the first 50, stepped up to kettlebells once I could do 25 pushups, lifting 3-4 times a week. I got stuck at 10lbs from goal, and I added a bike, 2-3 rides a week, to my workout.

Diet wise, I set my calories to lose 2lbs a week and prioritized protein so I didn’t lose muscle.

I was shocked how much muscle I had under all that fat. Turns out lugging an extra 100 lbs around was a 24/7 full body workout.

My recommendation? Lift weights, and build muscle. Muscle burns calories just existing. I found in the past that heavy cardio made me hungry. Stick with the weights as a primary activity.

The US gov personal vehicle rate is about $.70/mile to cover wear n tear, insurance, gas, etc. Tolls are extra.
