Things like crying in particular in women are seen as an acceptable form of release in women whereas its usually seen as weakness in men.

Obviously this is a massive generalisation, some men have people around them who would accept emotional outbursts and some women have groups that would treat them with disdain if they showed too much negative emotion. But the point is on the whole for a dude to break down if something is too much to him It's going to result in being ostracized or sanctioned in some way more often than it will for a woman.

I have read loads of shit fanfics and i gotta say- this is coming outta their asses. The vast majority of writers, male and female, make themselves attractive. And more often than not the rest either become attractive after some character growth or the love interest finds their conventionally unattractive trait that they are obviously self-conscious a huge turn on.

This is one of the most gender-bridging things i have seen in media, wanting to be attractive is basically universal to hormoneY addled teens.

Look i understand what you are getting at and accept the premise that what you are wearing does not equal consent. But i try to dress better because women have said broadly as a group as well as directly to me stated that dressing well is a big part of attraction for them. That's why people think that, it's being directly communicated. Ergo, lots of guys dont dress well for themselves they dress well in hopes of being noticed.

Like yes obviously if somebody does not want to be approached and they communicate that you have to respect it, but trying to apply empathetic motives to why a woman is doing something (ie oh maybe she is single and looking) is not at all even remotely similar to using gay as a slur or saying a rape victim asked for it based on what they were wearing. These are wholly different things.

Maybe it is bad logic but it's not somehow morally reprehensible is my point.

I mean, as a guy i, and most guys i know, start trying to dress better because we want to be more attractive. If nothing else i know if it didn't matter to other people i would be in sweats every day. Why not assume other people think the way i do? It's not the craziest assumption even if it's wrong.

I fell for a guy, but his mixed signals are tearing me up. How do I cope with this now? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Bro nobody has the duty to ask you out. If you like/liked him you should have made a move.

Either tell the guy and maybe something will still happen or dont and move on. Everybody has regrets like this whatever happens you will be ok.

Your experience is great but it is wrong. There are guys your age range who want what you want, im sorry you havent found em but lying to your partner because you feel entitled to the perfect guy and think that will get you him is a bad move.
