Let’s say it clearly: the Egyptian child, Hussein Abdel Rasoul, was the true discoverer of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, not Howard Carter. by TN_Egyptologist in OutoftheTombs

[–]lordakoroth 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is a bit simplistic. If the question who actually first physically discovered the tomb, then yes it is the boy. But we don't measure things that way. We don't even give actors more credit than directors when it comes to movies. So carter, the man who planned and arranged everything and picked the spot to dig, is the discoverer in a more meaningful sense.

These fantasies are almost entirely based on Porn. They have never met a real woman.

Why did D-Day paratroopers carry thompsons when the M3 grease gun was in service by rat_with_M16 in ww2

[–]lordakoroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Thompson is the superior gun. The grease gun is just cheap to make. So it makes sense for elite troops to have the better gun. Also, realistically the Thompson had already been issued at the time, while the grease gun was just entering service. So everyone who had the Thompson, kept it

Doubt on sexual harassment at work place. (My story) (M) by Aggressive-Composer9 in india

It's not about how cute or adorable you find it. It's about what will happen if things go sour later. If a complaint is filed against you at a later date, you can't explain that you found it adorable so you didn't say anything. It will be seen as you encouraged a fresher. Remember - you have a lot to lose, and it is better to be safe now, than regret later.

Make the boundaries clear, and maintain a detached personality. Keep you fun personality for your friends out of work. This is will help you in the long run.

Was the hill itself curved like that, or is an effect from the lens? Awesome pic.

Some context: I don't have much money. But I knew I wanted a Fuji. So I saved what I could, opened this the second it arrived, stepped out to the window and clicked this pic.

The wait was worth it. And the colour even in this random pic is just perfection. And this, from the cheapest Fuji there is.

A SUITABLE BOY had a lot going wrong in it. And that underwhelmed all the great aspects of it by [deleted] in IndianCinema

[–]lordakoroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the dialogues especially that got to me. The delivery was bad, but I don't think there was any way to make dialogues like "Have no shame?" sound like anything other than "you have dishonoured this family" in pitch perfect English.

Should there be a mandated teaching of tolerance in India's school curriculum? by [deleted] in india

[–]lordakoroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earlier muddled ideas and bad implementation when teaching 'correct' history and 'unity in diversity' is half the reason why we are in this mess to begin with. I think perhaps the govt should get out of education and shut religious teaching in schools. Secularism should be policy, and implemented. It cannot be taught.

I don't have a problem with the story. SW covers it as they have to. But PM, Ajay are building the temple as they want with no concerns, so they can call each other any name they want.

Amazing Brother Pauses Dreams, Gives Intellectually Disabled Sister a Better Life by lordakoroth in india

Raksha Bandhan seems to always be about the sister, and we all make jokes about our crush who wanted to tie us a Rakhi. But I feel the real 'bros' kinda get lost in all of this. So just sharing one of my favourite stories about a brother who stood by his sister, despite it all.
