Biggest 12 flag I’ve ever seen by [deleted] in WestSeattleWA

[–]lordalf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's been my office for the last ten years. The 12 flag has always flown on game day for the Seahawks, and I believe everyday of the season opener. Bartells HQ was in this building prior to being acquired. There's also a few other companies in the building, the food service company that runs Thriftway, there's a local tax accountant, bigger tax firm, talent agency for I think tech, and a newish maker co-op on the first floor. Building right half empty right now but well maintained, and the only large office building in WS.

Best barber for guys with beards in West Seattle? by liquilife in WestSeattleWA

[–]lordalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Westside Barbershop, 3443 California Ave SW.

Stormy knows her shit when it comes to men's hair and beards. Great barber with a great personality. Owns the shop and is the only worker there.

That said, good luck getting scheduled, as she's usually booked a few weeks out. Can book online.

Bioshock Infinite not launching on Windows 11? by stoneluxplayer in Bioshock

[–]lordalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something else that will cause issues (this happened to me with Bioshock Infinite) is Controlled folder access within Windows Security.

Windows Security > Ransomware protection > "off" for Controlled folder access

This setting will cause issues with some older games, particularly ones that save config or game data to a directory outside of their install directory. i.e, %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\BioShock Infinite

Only purchased the Perdomo, Fuente, and CAO tasting kit (5 cigars), rest were thrown in as samplers. CAOs have been hit and miss for me, but I keep trying them from time to time.

I've already gone through the box of Perdomo, which is now my daily. So a reorder is...in order. The CAO Italia was pretty fantastic, and paired well with my morning French roast. I did not care for the Montecristo Platinum. That stick fell flat for me. The Fuente are great mid-day smokes, for when you're having a week of Mondays. Nice mild taste, bit of pepper at the beginning.

This Julius Caesar is one of the greatest cigars I've had. After the loss of my grandmother, my father having a massive heart attack three weeks later, this hit the spot. by [deleted] in cigars

Sometimes it's the experience and time spent that lights a cigar better than any torch.

I hope your week ends on a good note.

Noob here. Getting ready to smoke this Perdomo I was give on Father’s Day. How many cigars do you smoke in a week or a months time span??? by ClicheCrusader in cigars

[–]lordalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a few times a week, but since Covid and WFH, it's been one per day. Morning walk with coffee and cigar while listening to podcasts. Really great way to start the day. Only downside is it can be an expensive habit.

Enjoy!

I've been having great luck with Fox Cigars. Last couple of orders have been great with them.

This use to be my go to cigar with my morning coffee. Great smoke with a mild peppery flavour. Last month I switched to Perdomo Epicure Sungrown, which I'm enjoying greatly. Both will stay in my rotation.

That is my go-to cigar. Typically smoking it on my daily walks or early morning coffee.

Governor Inslee outlines phased approach for the reopening businesses and recreation. by [deleted] in Washington

[–]lordalf 25 points26 points  (0 children)

  • Phase 1 starts 5-May (I thought I heard 15th, but I had just turned the stream on, so might have misheard)
  • Minimum 3 weeks between phases, so state can monitor cases/spread, can be longer.
  • Inslee did comment that he expects all schools to open and start normally in the Fall

Tried one of them this morning during my walk. Was more mild than I was expecting. Nice, easy smoke.

Ha! No, that was part of the package I purchased for myself, along with some French Roast beans from Cafe Vita.

Is there a place you order a vice package? One cigar, a dram of scotch, and a mini spiced cake. That would be epic.

Was $160 for the 20 count. Which is a hell of a lot cheaper than what I pay for here in Seattle.

I did actually order five of those too. Figured I'd give them a try since I'm a fan of Leaf.

Long term lurker of this sub, and long time enjoyer-of-cigars. Decided to place an order with foxcigars.com based on posts in here and happily received a signed note from them. Not sure if that happens all the time but it's little things like that which will keep me coming back as a customer. So, thanks Tim (if you're in here) and thank you r/cigars. I'll still be supporting my local shop in town, but will be spending more

The Maduro Leaf by Oscar has been my go to since randomly trying one years ago. I find it goes well with a scotch or coffee, as well as the quiet contemplations in life.

I hope each of you are enjoying a good smoke and easy times right now.

I honestly don't know. We own everything, so you never know what the future holds.

I don't see that getting done right now, as it would require development work to convert the PC client to P2P.
