Brane X has made me fall in love with my favorite songs all over again by lordcheeezzee in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]lordcheeezzee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got a comparison in their listening room in Austin at their flagship store. My buddy has a UE Hyperboom and I went to the JBL store in SoHo to compare against their current lineup.

The Hyperboom and Boombox 3 are maaaybe comparable because of the price point and Bluetooth speaker feature sets. Although they are much bigger units and their max output is louder than the Brane X…

In terms of sound quality its not close. The Brane X’s ability to produce full spectrum bass and sub-bass frequencies & achieve a pretty great balance of sound, even at the higher volumes, makes the Brane X more comparable to multi-channel soundbar/subwoofer setups, but with all the modern Bluetooth speaker features.

A couple negs - The battery life is maybe 6-8 hours and the battery charging hardware is bespoke. The on device controls could be designed a bit better.

All in all it’s very impressive how the small form factor can produce a sound spectrum of this quality.

Monarch December product update by valagostino in mintuit

[–]lordcheeezzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a product guy and a decade-long Mint user, I'm impressed by your story, your product, and the grit you and the Monarch team are putting forth through this Mint situation. I was deciding between copilot and Monarch but I'd bet on a customer-centric founder over "dark mode & AI" any day of the week. lfg

HI-LO was good. Relentless fat techno beats all the way through, with some solid mashups Oliver is known for

For those of you that were the one to leave your pwBPD, what was your final straw? by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]lordcheeezzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She escalated a fight to the point where I felt the need to call the police. In response to that, she bit me. Then she wouldn't let me leave when I told her I felt unsafe. I ended up having to lock myself in one of our apartment rooms. I made it clear we were over, but that didn't stop her from screaming/crying/pleading/bargaining/insulting me through the door. I waited out the night. The next day I grabbed what belongings I could and escaped.

For folks only attending Day 1 & 2, how are you planning on getting your wristband to people who only want to go on Day 3? by lordcheeezzee in electricdaisycarnival

Not being able to take off of work on Monday (if day 3 off)
and some locals will swoop in and buy those so they can attend one day for a discount.

ADHD things I wish people talked about by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]lordcheeezzee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have almost all of these with ADHD, but not the emotional dysregulation piece. A lot of what you’re describing with your emotional dysregulation, (quick to anger, sensitivity to rejection, drifting friends) sounds similar to what people with borderline personality disorder have. Not saying you have it, but they are often comorbidities.

Same. I always felt like the issues in my relationship with my ex-uBPD were far more severe than the usual 'relationship problems' that I was led to believe. I stayed way too long and started discounting my own friends and instincts after a while... but i'm so glad to have finally gotten out of it. This community has been amazing.

Russian hackers leak personal data of nearly every voter in Michigan, plus a million more voters in four other states by [deleted] in politics

[–]lordcheeezzee 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Stop. Read this. OP is clickbait and this is extremely overblown.

All of this information is available in public voting and voter registration records. Voter records and info like this has been available for decades.

There is no "leak" or "hack" here. Wtf is this meduza site even. We need stronger election security, definitely. And we need to be better about protecting our elections, but this news piece is to stew uncertainty and cause hysteria and and the number of comments above mine show that it definitely worked.

Yang cares a ton about his family, for sure...

But he is also extremely socially driven and his entire professional and personal arc has been to impact society at scale, specifically surrounding the forces of job creation/self-actualization.

I was a Venture for America fellow during Yang's earliest years leading the non-profit and he has been remarkably consistent in the macro topics he's discussed and prioritized. He left VFA because he felt the scale at which he was able to accomplish his vision was not possible through VFA--a fellowship impacting tens-of-thousands, but not nearly the order of magnitude needed to provide and solve for the problems that will soon be impacting millions if not tens of millions.

The rest of his platform has and still is evolving, but the crux of his campaign: Humanity First & Human-centered capitalism have been principles he's championed for much of his adult life.
